I went to Target today in Spring and was told that I could not use the $1/3 on the colored pencils. They stated they would only take the coupon if all items were greater than $1 each. Now I was buying 3 colored pencils so I would still have to pay $.50 for all 3 and they would not have been free, and the coupon has no exclusions on price. I was not in the mood to argue so I kindly told them that was fine I would not buy them at all. Then they proceeded to tell me I could only use 5 coupons, whether they were alike or different, total for my order. I had 8 and I was not going to put anything else back. I had spent my time finding it all and I was not ugly about the colored pencils. I felt as if they were in a sense picking on me. I poceeded to explain to them that the coupon policy states that you can not have more than 4 of a like coupon but I did not recall it stating a total limit of coupons. The cashier very rudely told me that she was not listening to me (I felt I was talking to my 4 year old in a foul mood LOL). I asked to speak to the manager and she called her over and she stated it is a corporate policy that they take no more than 5 coups total whether the same or different. I was not very happy at all, she didn’t care about the disrespect I recieved from her cashier or trying to compromise with me. How would you handle this situation? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Call Target Corporate right away, explain the situation and ask their opinion. Also you can ask them to talk to the store manager so that you dont have that problem again. Make sure they know you feel like you were being picked on. Let us know what they say! So sorry that happened, that is so frustrating, esp. when you have kids with you. 🙁
