I am trying to find a site that tells how to spot bogus coupons. Apparently some I received this week were no good. When we tried to use them at Wal-Mart they told us they were bogus and they would not accept them. Their registers accept them but when they tried to get reimbursed they were told they were fake. Is there any way to know when one if fake?

Depending on what they were, I am guessing they were not bogus they just didn’t know how to scan them!

When you go shopping, what is your average savings? Are you happy if you save 25% or do you plan to save more each shopping experience?

i just wanted to know the “buy it now” price list. When I go shopping I shouldnt buy it or its not a good buy if the price is more then on that list. Thats what its for? I have started in July but still a learning process. I never paid attention to this list. I think this will help alot. And can you explain to me how the bogo thing works again. Thanks lot. :)

I am wondering if you or anyone knows of any specials or promotions on the Houston Chronicle to get the paper on SUndays only for coupons?

Reply

Lori November 21, 2011 at 3:07 pm

Bummer, I was really hoping to come back here and find out someone knew of something for the Chronicle. I get such a run around whenever I call them to ask about it, they must not do that here like other cities?

Hi Tiffany! I was wondering how you know what coupons are worth clipping and which ones aren’t. I have two 3 inch binders and want to cut them down to one.

I read that you shouldn’t use a coupon to just use it, but I found that I like other products because I had a coupon for them.

Any bit of info would help.

A local artist (The Woodlands) Sarah Kelly just released her 4 song Christmas iTunes mix $3.98. I know it is not a half off sale but it is good. Great Music to get us in the mood!!

First of all, last Saturday was the best Coupon class EVER! I intend to stalk my local Valero for their store copy of the Sunday paper!! Great idea!

My question:
Does Dollar General allow you to use the $5 off $25 coupon FIRST and then man. coupons? I am working on an awesome deal! I just hate it when you are at the register and things don’t work out like you plan! Thank you for all your help and great ideas!!!

No most of the time they wont I am so sorry :( You can always take it with you and try but I have seen them not do it.

Patricia December 7, 2012 at 8:53 pm

No one will take a coupon that has been altered in any form or fashion, reason is that the maufacturer will not reimburse them for those, so sorry that you accidently clipped through the BC but it is no longer a valid coupon :(

I just lost my job, so I am desperate to learn how to do this to save some kind of money! When is your next Couponing Workshop? Does the 5 at the beginning of the coupon number mean it does NOT double? Does the 9 at the beginning of the coupon number mean that it automatically double, whether the store doubles or triples coupons or not? Is there a specific number that means the coupon will triple? I need to go to your next workshop! Please let me know when it is. I live near you in Spring, TX. Thank you!!!

Do you know what the RAIN check policy is at Target? I went to the store 3 times last week to take advantage of the Gillette Pro Glide deal with the $5 Target gc offer. They didn’t have any each time I was there. I asked for a rain check, and was refused! The customer service clerk respoded “it must be on sale after this week (no guarantee) and we CAN’T offer a rain check. BUT, you CAN drive to these stores……all more than 35 miles away! I tried calling the corporate numbers listed, and that was a joke. She kept telling me my rain check was good for 90 days and they would only honor it if they had the product in stock. I spent 20 minutes trying to make her understand my question, and requesting to speak to a customer service manager no less than 7 times, and I was REFUSED since she would tell me the same thing. Suggestions? Now it is the principal of the thing. I’ve had problems with Target before, but never this bad.

Oh Ruth, i had the same problem during that promotion only my understanding of the reason why they could not give me a rain check was made pretty clear by a Service desk employee…ok, so even though on a normal situation they will gladly issue a rain check the only reason they could not issue rain checks during the $5 gift card deal is exactly that, the $5 gift card incentives are not ones that can be given a rain check period, so after the GC promotion is over my guess is the razor will be plentiful in every store you visit. sad but true, plus now we have a $10 off for the Proglide that is a pretty good deal that I intend to use.

I was recently referred to this website by a friend because I am a new “couponer”. I mostly shop at HEB and I don’t see many posts in the HEB section. Are there many match ups or is HEB not a good place to coupon at?

Reply

Tiffany December 12, 2012 at 7:00 pm

HEB is a little more difficult to coupon at, but they are a great place to save money. I do post HEB info but it is usually 1 deal at a time. THere are about 6 different ads for the Houston area.

I am amazed… how do you do it?? I spend alot of time every week couponing and can’t get my grocery bill under $900. I have 6 children… ages 15 to 5… five of them are boys. Where do you shop? Do you do a wholesale club? Thanks!

Reply

Tiffany March 9, 2013 at 10:19 pm

No I really only get gas at Sams club. Honesty having a meal plan is what changed everything for me. It is the only way I have really cut my budget.

Heidi March 12, 2013 at 8:07 am

Just wondering if you include toiletries, and paper goods like Paper towels, paper plates, etc in your grocery budget? I do include it in mine and I’m wondering if that’s why my numbers are so high? I do a 2 week meal plan and shop only twice a month. I do small runs to Aldi in between for more milk , bread and cheese… I coupon, price match at Walmart and shop Sam’s ONLY for the things that are cheaper there than getting them with Coupons… And one last thing… do you eat out once a week? We rarely eat out and try to keep our eating out budget under $150/ month. Most of this is my husband’s work lunches out. I don’t know what I can do to get my numbers lower!

Reply

Tiffany March 12, 2013 at 9:02 am

We do eat out about once a week. But it is about $50 as there are 9 of us and my bigger kids now get an adult meal. :( In my menu plan I only include the cost of food, but I try and keep my overall food budget and toiletries to $150 a week or less.

Hi!

What does the SS stand for and the R? I was looking at your Walgreens blog post from the 27th:

Use 3 $0.75/1 Arm & Hammer Laundry Product, exp. 4/1/13 (SS 02/10/13 R)
$1/2 Arm & Hammer Laundry Product, exp. 4/1/13 (SS 02/10/13 R)
$0.75/2 Arm & Hammer Laundry Product, exp. 4/1/13 (SS 02/10/13 R)
Total: $5.28 for 3 or $1.76 each!

Your reply is greatly appreciated.

They stand Smart Source the Sunday insert and the “R” is regional meaning some areas didn’t get it

I can’t get the coupon printer to install. I’ve followed the instructions and get a “coupon printer installed – click to close and print coupons” message after installing but when I click on it nothing happens. Any suggestions?

Monique, try looking in your downloads and see if it is there. If it is uninstall it and try reinstalling it. That will usually do it!
