My kids LOVE it, and I love it that they can make it themselves and not have to turn on the stove! We use it all the time in quesadillas, enchiladas, tortilla soup, taco’s and burritos. In the video here I am showing you how my kids use it in nacho’s! A little goes a LONG way! Only 1 T. makes an entire plate of nachos.

**Please be nice and remember that I am getting as big as a house boat, pregnancy is not very flattering on me :)!

we just got off our Spring Break, we did not go anywhere, but stayed home and worked in the house. My two boys changed bedrooms- I redid both and worked on some furniture remodeling for my oldests room, which came out wonderful. My husband and I continued to work on a spare room that will be our storage pantry for stockpiling. It is getting closer but probably have a couple more weekends before it is all done.- Great giveaway

Well, my kids are 3, 1 and 3 months…so I don’t really get a spring break yet:-( But I hope to see a few of my teacher friends who will have the week off.
PS…if I win the gift card I’ll be giving it to a friend who’s husband is in school full time and she’s a stay at home mom. She could use the extra $25 for groceries.

Altered art clip board and notebook set

I am reposting this one for a reader who was looking for it!

For a Women’s activity at my church I was given the assignment to come up with a decorated clipboard. I never get the time or would have taken the time on my own to play around with any crafts right now, so I guess I should be thankful it was an assignment, that meant I HAD to do it 🙂 Right?

I started with a regular composition notebook (.50 cents at Walmart) and scrapbooking paper. I traced the cover and back and cut to match the size of the cover.

I did the same for the back and front of the clip board. I used a coordinating paper for the backs of the clip boards.
Next, I glued the paper to the notebook covers.
For the front of the clipboard I made a template so I could cut around the clip part and fit the paper in nicely.
It was late and I thought I had modge podge (I spelled that wrong didn’t I?) but I was out. So I watered down white Elmer’s glue and it worked perfectly.

I coated the backside of the clipboard with a thin layer and placed the paper on top. When it was dry I did the front side. When that was dry I did a think layer over the top of the paper to help seal it down. It only takes about 20 minutes to dry.
While watching a movie with my husband, I trashed my living room floor with scrapbooking supplies to embellish the covers. We were watching Juno, I hadn’t seen it before, it was a cute movie.
This is one set when done! The little book in the left hand corner is a little post it note embelished book. I used velcro on the cover to hold it closed. It turned out really cute! The directions to make one are HERE.
This set has a smaller clipboard with buttons. I like the bigger clipboards better but I wanted other to have options, thats always fun isn’t it!

Giveaway Time!

My friend Suzanne E. has an amazing story, her three children have severe food allergies. It took Suzanne and her dedication to her children, to get the Doctors to correctly diagnose her children’s allergies and to get them some help. Imagine making THREE different meals at each meal time, one specifically for each child.
Suzanne had a great idea one day when she was looking at a wedding book. Even if her kids couldn’t have birthday cake, they were sill going to have “cake”! So she created paper cakes. 

“Paper Cake slices that double as a box are perfect for Birthdays, Weddings, Favors, and Crafts especially for those with food allergies. They can be filled with treasures and handed out as favors at special events as well as become an exciting craft. They can be ordered Pre-made or as a “Kit” you assemble yourself!”

Suzanne gave me a “cake” for my girls for Valentines Day. I saved mine and used it this weekend at my daughters baptism. I filled all the little boxes with stickers, candy, and lip gloss for the girls. They LOVED it!

This picture is after I realized I had not taken a picture and made all the girls put their boxes back! I had them all nicely displayed on a cake plate with ribbon around the entire thing!
The cutest thing is that insides are decorated like real slices of cake!
Suzanne has just started an etsy site HERE where she is selling her cakes either pre-made, or kits you can do yourself! She also designed her own templates for the cake slices, very smart girl!

I always make couponing look good when I have two crying kids in my cart that are also fighting and Im flopping my coupons on the ledge and they are falling allover the ground. Then come to find out half of them are expired! I am so good at couponing;))

How to make couponing look easy at the store:
Zebra 4″ spiked heels, no, make that four. Fishnet stockings, and a very tight leopard skin short skirt. Skin tight, cut low blouse with my black demi bra. Hair to heaven, ratted, smeared mascara under my eyes, mullet…
Did you mean how to make myself look easy while couponing or did I misunderstand the question?

I take my big purse. I stick my organizer inside and move the coupons I use to the front pocket so I’m ready at checkout. This is my attempt to be efficient and discreet and keep my coupons from being stolen.

Man, I could use an attractive and much more functional binder. What I’m doing now is not worth the time I spend on clipping those coupons. I have recently started filing my coupons in plastic sleeves. I should be binder empowered soon (it would just happen so much faster if I won) Come on kids!!! Choose me.

PS Mark told me to say that I wear my stillettos haahaa. I guess he hasn’t noticed how I walk {and trip) in high heels!
