Shopping on Black Friday is a bit different than shopping any other day of the year! I believe you must be prepared.
Make a List – Making a list can save you time and money. Not only do you need a list of what you are looking for, but a list of who you are buying for as well. This part will save you money, so that you don’t buy 10 items for one person that day without realizing it. As you purchase something write it down, and put the receipt in a safe place!
Know your prices! – On Black Friday there is so much hype. Many times things are on sale that are not that good of a sale. When you get in the mentality that you have to buy it then or it will be gone you end up spending more. Also, consider price matching, Walmart, Target and Kohl’s will be price matching that day. I scored an amazing digital photo frame last year at Kohl’s by price matching it to Walmarts price. Don’t get caught up in the hype and purchase something you normally would have not purchased.
Take a friend – This is a must do! We work in pairs when we shop, one person stands in line while the other shops and we take turns. Otherwise once we are done shopping we now have an hour to wait in line and miss other sales. If you have a plan you can also split up in the store and be in two places at once!
Have fun – Bring food and drinks, make new friends, hold the place in line for someone to run to the bathroom, get tips and share tips with other shoppers. I have found many of my best deals by talking to other people in line.
Think ahead – Bring all the sale adds with you! You will be lost without them and you never know when a price matching opportunity will arise! Look for coupons online before you go. There are many $10 off $50 purchase coupons out there, look for them ahead of time!
