Coupons for the Troops!
Do NOT throw away those expired coupons! They can be used by our troops well past the expiration date!
My friend Jenan has taken it upon herself to start a program here in the The Woodlands/Spring, North Houston area to get these coupons to the troops. Lets do all we can to support her and make this happen!
This is what she has so far:
We are now known as Expired Coupon Project- Spring. I have adopted the Alconburg U.K. base. Everyone can drop off cut or uncut coupons at 2 locations: The 2 locations are curves on 2920. It is on left just before the Rhodes Rd light. Also, at The Church at Creek’s End 20010 Kuykendahl. If you go down 2920 turn left on Gosling Rd light. Then turn left onto Kuykendahl the church will be just past My Family Vet on left. There will be a box at both locations. Please donate a dollar with your coupons to help with postage! If anyone would like to set up a box at their office they can email me at jrsqueaky@gmail.com.
The Church at Creek’s End is letting me meet once a month to cut and sort out everything. I will email you back a date for that. Anyone that wants to come and help in any fashion is more than welcome. I just need them to email me so I know who many are looking at coming.

Today was my first time trying to get out of the house with all 7 kids by myself with a deadline! I had to have the girls at VBS by 9:00 am. I have to admit we made it out the door by 9:05 and I am not sure everyone had shoes on! But we made it, they all had breakfast and 3 out 4 big girls had their hair done. The school year is going to be rough!
After dropping the girls off we ran to Kroger to check out the sale. I have to say it is one of the smaller ones they have done. I was expecting a a little more, but did alright in the end!
A few tips:
A few tips:**Look for peelies on the Dixie plates for Buy 2 plates get 1 200ct napkin FREE. Great deal since the napkins are on the Mega Event also. The coupons for the dixie plates are $1/2 so I bought 6 packages and got 3 free napkins.
** The $2 off Post coupon (no longer available) I was going to use on the Raisin Bran, until I found out it is the wrong kind…. see post below! So I saw the Grape Nuts for $1.99 on sale and got them free! Yipee!
** The Dial soap in on 10 for 10. We have coupons for $.35 off making them free! Not part of the mega event so don’t count them in your total.
** I had gotten a bunch of Lysol coupons from the Hospital when I had the baby and happen to be smart enough to throw them in my binder so I got a great deal on the Lysol!
** All the patio furniture is on clearance for 50% off. I got a nice grill gazebo for my husband and a love seat swing for a great price! So check it out, they will go 75% off but all the good stuff is gone.
** I had 2 carts, one my son pushed with the baby in it, the other I had. I put all the mega deal thing in my cart so I could keep track, all the other regular items I put in his cart so they were separate. Worked out nicely, I also had the front baby seat open to put my binder in 🙂

Seriously Flaky!
Raisin Bran is the one cereal that both my husband and I love. I love “healthy” cereal and he loves sugary. But we both could eat an entire box of raisin bran if left unattended 🙂
I don’t normally crave anything while I am pregnant is it usually for the first couple weeks after I have a baby that for some reason I crave things… This time I was really desperate for some raisin bran! I grabbed some this weekend while shopping and poured a bowl as soon as I got home!
“What have they done to the raisin bran?” I cried! They changed it! This is horrible, I hate it when they go and changed something that is perfect 🙂
My husband looks at the box, “You got the wrong kind sweetheart.”
“What? What do you mean, it’s raisin bran!”
Rolling his eyes he informs me, “There are 2 kinds, Kellogg’s and Post, you got Post and we like Kellogg’s. Kellogg’s has the sweeter raisins and more bran flakes.”
I had no idea! We then had a seriously intellectual conversation for the next 30 min. on the properties of both kinds of raisin bran and how for the past 14 years have I ALWAYS managed to grab the right box and never knew there was a difference!
This is where it gets funny: I am at work yesterday and I am on the phone, my husband calls my cell phone, I have to ignore it and figure I will call him right back. He calls the front office and asks them to transfer him to me, I still am TRYING to get off the phone and get to him, assuming it is an emergency. I miss him again and finally call him back.
“What happened, what’s wrong??!!” I ask.
“I went and got you the right box of raisin bran last night, you didn’t see it this morning, so I thought I would have a bowl for you :)” he says. “Your not going to believe it, but there are NO raisins in the bag!”
“Did you get the right kind?” I mock.
“Very funny, so I call customer service and she asked me if the bag had been tampered with. I asked her, if she is asking, if someone stole all the raisins from the bag. The nice lady explained that SOMETIMES it HAPPENS!”
