Here is a goofy video I made showing you how my family eats Taco TVP. TVP in general stands for Textured Vegetable Protein. You have actually probably had it many times and didn’t even know it. Many restaurants and fast food places (Taco Bell) use it often in their menu. Most of the canned chili at the grocery store has TVP in it.
My kids LOVE it, and I love it that they can make it themselves and not have to turn on the stove! We use it all the time in quesadillas, enchiladas, tortilla soup, taco’s and burritos. In the video here I am showing you how my kids use it in nacho’s! A little goes a LONG way! Only 1 T. makes an entire plate of nachos.

Tiffany, you are adoreable! don't kid yourself! And our family's favorite "mexican" is Enchiladas ala picky Jonathan. This was an enchilada variation that I created when I was first married for my very picky husband. It was a hit and to this day everyone in my family will eat it (a small miricle).

We love black bean enchiladas. I have made an effort to replace at least one of our dinners each week with a "meatless" dish. I've got a Mexican Rice dish I make with brown rice cooked in the rice cooker with taco seasoning, ground turkey, salsa, sour cream, and shredded cheese. It's cheap and reasonably healthy, and delicious! I wonder how Taco TVP would taste in place of the ground turkey.
Woman! I think I'd be praising God if I looked like you after having six kids and pregnant with my 7th! You're crazy! You look great =) My idea of Mexican is Taco Bell…I don't normally do authentic mexican restaurants cuz I'm crazy like that…the extent of my cooking mexican is making tacos and burritos. Do you guys have a Taco Bueno near you…I know they have them in Texas for sure? I'm from OK originally and being in MN now…Taco Bueno (and Braum's and Daylight Donuts!) are what I miss the most…mexi dips and chips…Can't get enough. I also can't get enough of the cheddar in cups…like the hot stuff…I wish they sold that stuff in stores (not like in the glass jars…it's not the same) versus the shredded cheese. If Taco Bell has TVP in it, then I'm in for a can. We don't eat out much, but when we do, Taco Bell is on the menu. My fave mexican food isn't made by Taco Bell, but an awesome local restaurant called the Phoenix Cafe. They make a Taco salad to roll over for. I didn't know there was taco meat like that! We always use soya nuggets from the mexican market, we make tacos, and ceviche from it. Our favorite is tacos, but the tacos that I grew up on, aren't the same as the tacos the boys are used too. They like the real mexican tacos, but they like ground beef too.
