I used to make these Dessert Burgers when my oldest was little. In fact, we had them on several birthday parties and different events. This year on April Fools day I think we will be making them for the kids alone with my Meatloaf Cupcakes.
Most likely you will be able to find everything at your Walmart or grocery store. I usually have Nutella on hand and so most of the time I use that.
Do drops of frosting for the ketchup and mustard so that when you press the “bun” on it looks like you have ketchup and mustard! These are pretty easy to store, I keep them in the fridge to the are “harder” when transporting. These are great for the kids to take to school!
Dessert Burgers
You will need
- Jif Hazelnut Salted Caramel (or Nutella will work)
- Nilla Wafers
- Powdered sugar
- Green Frosting
- Yellow Frosting
- Red Frosting
Mix equal parts Jif Salted Caramel and powdered sugar in a bowl (1/2 cup of each). Kneed into a dough with your fingers, shape into small burger shaped patties. Use two Nilla Wafers for the buns, on the bottom bun put green frosting, layer on the “fake beef patty” put yellow and red frosting on to make it look like mustard and ketchup. Top with a Nilla wafer for the top bun, enjoy!

These are too cute! I have a friend who made them using a peppermint patty as the patty and starburst as the veggies. Can’t wait to share this with her:)
