For the past few years I have been making a Coca Cola Ham for Easter. Even if I get a spiral sliced from the store, I have poured a can of Coke over the ham, it just seems to keep it so moist and good! I love the crispy edges and the hint of mustard. Give it a shot it is easy!
Coca Cola Ham
Ingredients
- 1 (6 to 8 pound) fully cooked, shank-end half ham
- 1 to 2 cups light brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/2 cup yellow mustard
- Crushed OR Sliced pineapple
- Whole cloves, optional
- Cherries, optional
- 1/2 can of Coca-Cola
Preparation
- Wash ham thoroughly.
- Rub fat side with brown sugar and mustard
- Pour Coca-Cola over ham.
- Pour crushed pineapple over ham.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 3 hours.
* Now you can also score the ham, and place the pineapple rings across the top with the cherries in the middle. It is just easier with the crushed, but not as pretty! I also broil the top just for a few minutes to make it extra crispy. Makes 6 servings

My ex husband’s sister made this for us about a year or two ago and I thought it was good. My husband said that it was dry. I made it and he also said it was dry. How did you make it not end up dry? My regular ham (pineapples on it with cherries) always is moist.
This one has pineapple on it, I think maybe that is key?
Ok, I made this and my ham ended up burnt (bad), was the 450 degrees right or should it be 250 degrees for 3 hours? I looked at it twice and thought, don’t make any changes it will turn out. I appreciate you posting your recipes just trying to figure out what I did wrong. Thanks!
Carmela, that is completely my fault! I am so sorry! I have no idea why it was 450 and I didn’t watch that! It really depends on your ham and the weight. They should say on the package what the time and temp should be for the weight of the ham, but there is no way it should have ever been 450. 🙁 Oh no!
Not your fault I should have used my judgement but I thought (for a change) I am going to follow the recipe exactly so that I have a nice moist ham. I had put it in the oven before we left for church and came home to the smell and thought oh no I think I should have changed the temp to 250 so I have learned a lesson. I appreciate all your work on the site.
I am the same way!! I am really so sorry though, that stinks! Yeah, I learned a lesson as well. I usually proof read but I might need someone to double check!
450 was on the Coke website when I tried this recipe last Fall… Yipes! I’ll re-try it at the lower temp!!! ????
