** Well, I just wanted to say…. THIS IS MY 5,000th POST!! Holy Cow!! I can’t believe I have typed up 5,000 and hit “publish” that many times!
Because my 5,000th post happens to land on a weekly menu plan post – I want to save you from a week of cooking and am giving one random winner a week of gift cards to eat out! All you have to do is leave a comment letting us know where your favorite place to eat is!
Now onto my menu plan:
Sunday – Tonight we had my famous spaghetti, I doubled it so that we can have chicken lasagna on Tuesday night. We had left over hamburger from mini sliders the other night so I made spaghetti with it.
Monday – Pastrami and cheese sandwiches with salad.
Tuesday – Chicken Lasagna, I am using my cream cheese coupon and left over spaghetti for tonights dinner.
Wednesday – Paul’s gourmet Grilled Cheese Sandwiches! He makes the best grilled cheese with pesto and parmesan cheese, I will take pictures and post it!
Thursday – Not sure yet… anyone have any good ideas?!
Friday – Pizza of course! Homemade all the way! Recipe HERE.

My favorite place is my house. Since we eat a gluten free/casein free diet it’s hard to find food we can eat at a restaurant. So coupons for almond milk, Udi’s bread or other gluten free foods would be nice. Although I live in Minnesota, I love your blog. Thanks for sharing your knowledge on saving money.

My favorite place to eat is…HOME! Yep, I really love to eat at home but rarely have the time or the knowledge to prepare something delicious at home. I am using your weekly meal plans for ideas and hopefully we’ll be able to eat at home more often.
I looooove going anywhere, but mostly buffets. I know, I know, kinda gross, but the kids don’t have to wait and everyone gets what they want!

I have a bit of a crush on Subway. 😉 Thursday dinner idea: Fajita Casserole. Cook your chicken or steak (or both), onions, peppers, tomatoes, and fajita seasonings together. Add cooked rice and black beans. Layer in casserole dish with tortillas and cheese. Cover and bake until cheese is melted together into a mass of yummy goodness! (about 15 mins) (as with any casserole, ingredients are all optional..you can add or subtract as you wish to make it your own) Enjoy!

We love Chinese and Mexican food. Good Chinese is hard to find near tomball so we usually end up at panda express. As for Mexican, I would never turn down a good plate of steak and chicken fajitas. Does anyone have any good suggestions for great Chinese near Tomball??

Thursday night:
I found this recipe that’s super easy and delicious!
It calls for
4 chicken breasts
1 cup salsa
1/2 cup sour cream
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 taco seasoning packet
This serves six so you will need to plan accordingly.
You take the chicken and place in crock pot, sprinkle taco seasoning. (I use half a packet) then add salsa and soup.
Let it cook on low for 6-8 hours.
Then stir in sour cream.
Wala!!! Done.
Then make some rice to serve with it.
We made it for first time today and it was awesome. We are thinking of putting some diced veggies in it next time.

i think my absolute favorite place to eat out would have to be Carrabbas. I don’t get to eat there very much because of the price, and my kids wouldn’t sit still for long in there. LOL. The food is real 100% authentic Italian food. So yummy! Congrats on the 5,000 posts!
I would have to say my favorite place to eat is this hole in the wall Thai Food restaurant (can’t even begin to spell the name, LoL). The dressing they put on their salad is to DIE for~!
What an awesome giveaway! For us its a toss-up between Red Lobster and Olive Garden. We used to eat out all the time (before kids!) but not its limited to special occassions. We always talk about trying something new but then end right back at one of these two places. They are both so yummy, though!!

Here’s an idea for Thursday night meal: Chicken Quesadillas….they are super easy, bet your kids would love them.
You will need 4-6 tortilla shells (flour), either canned chicken or dice up some cooked chicken breasts. shredded cheese of choice (mexican or colby jack etc.) and bottled italian dressing.
Use one can of chicken and add 1/2 cup (or more to make it moist) of Italian dressing. Stir to break up the large chicken pieces…. and then spread on a tortilla shell that is placed on your griddle/pan, add some cheese and top with second tortilla shell. Grill one side, then flip it over. Cut into fourths. Serve with salsa or guacomole. I use one can of chicken and one 2 cup bag of cheese and get 2-3 quesidillas depending on how large the tortilla shells are. I usually use the medium to large shells as they fit in my skillet the best.
This is super easy and a great way to use up all that bargain Italian dressing we buy with our coupons! 🙂
And if your kids are not big chicken eaters try other ingredients inside: black beans & cheese, just cheese, ground beef & cheese, shredded pork/cheese….of course you need cheese with all of these.
Of course, double the recipe as needed.

We love Pallotta’s on Monday because kids eat free. Tuesdays at Chilis because kids eat free. Luby’s on Wednesday because kids eat free. Thursday we can do Rico’s Mexican and they have a free HH buffet, so you guessed it……we all eat for free.

I have to eat gluten free (I have Celiac Disease) so eating out can sometimes be a challenge. One of my favorite places to eat is BJ’s b/c they have awesome gluten free pizza!! But Chick fil A or Taco Bell (my 5 year olds favorite) are go to’s in a pinch. Thanks for all you do!!

We don’t go out to eat a whole lot since we have a child with some health issues but when we do we love Texas Roadhouse (it’s an hour and a half away though) and Subway since it’s the only chain restaurant in the area. We have eaten at a local eatery called the Seafood Shack a few times….hubby and I love their seafood platter and one is enough for the two of us to share…something a family of five has to do a lot of 🙂

How about mexican on Thursday: Flautas, rice side salad… roll up corn tortillas with cooked chicken of your choice, secure with toothpick, and baked until crispy. Make spanish rice and add peas & carrots (for extra veggies kids will eat up) shredded lettuce and tomato with a sprinkle of lemon and sour cream for dipping flautas in! And because we eat “mexican food” almost daily, we enjoy eating at Capt’ Bennys, Cheesecake Factory and Carrabas. Thanx for your blog!

I think our favorite place to eat is Texas Roadhouse. I can always use a good prime rib in my life. But, if it’s a really special day, In and Out is the quickest way into my husbands heart!
We do not get to eat out that often, because it cost a lot for our family of five. When we do eat out, our favorite places are Golden Corral and Applebees. Thanks for your great site and all the deals. I follow you and your husband. Enjoy your weeek!

What an awesome idea. My family loves to eat at The Cheesecake Factory. Great, now I’m thinking about their amazing chocolate cheesecake. It’s so good. We also love Lupe Tortilla. Great enchilladas with tamitalo sause. Yum. Now I’m hungry.

With our growing family of 6 we don’t eat out a lot but when we do we like to go to Smokey Bones,El Sombrero,Olive Garden. Really anywhere that someone else is doing the cooking 🙂

My favorite restaurant is the ones who have kids eat free. So…Sunday Las Lomas, Monday Wunsche Brothers Cafe, Tuesday Berryhill, Wednesday Buffalo wild wings, Thursday Dennys, Friday Double Daves and Saturday Lubys!

We LOVE Chic Fil a for fast food. Salt Grass/Outback for steak. Los Cusos for Mexican. LOVE Buffalo Wild Wings…We don’t eat out much at all. We save so much money this way and it allows me to work on the stockpile!

In Houston there are so many choices I would have to say Cheddars for sit down and Arbys for fast food.

When we eat out, it’s usually at Panera Bread or Papouli’s.

I like eating at home – it’s cheaper, healthier, and doggone it, I’m a good cook! :o) Okay, I’m a fan of a local restaurant, not a chain, called The Mill House. Fan of a restaurant in FL we accidentally found on vacation called J.Mark’s. We don’t have great chain restaurants in my small town so we travel 50 miles or more for Olive Garden, Chili’s, Texas Roadhouse, Chik-fil-A, and let us not forget Krispy Kreme.

I am with some other posters, anywhere is good for me but I am an Italian girl and do like Olive Garden (they must have something everyone seems to like them) and Carrabas. But Ican also do Cici’s as well, lol.
Chick-fil-A and Red Lobster!
My husband and I just LOVE Applebee’s. One simple reason is because of their great 2 for $20 deal. We rarely get a chance to eat out due to not having enough money but when we do, we tend to go there alot. Their chicken ceasar salads are amazing!! I’m getting hungry just thinking about it 😉
Our favorite is a local sushi place called Ichiban.
We love Olive Garden too! I also applebee’s, especially since I’m back on weight watchers. It makes it easy to have a night off cooking but still know I can enjoy my dinner without feeling deprived! LOL! Thanks for the giveaway!

Chick-Fil-A!!! The play area is always a winner in my book. It is the only way to ear out my 2 year old while we wait on out food.
My favorite close to home restaurant is called the Lucky Dragon, but when we are out & about or have a night out planned we really like to go to the Texas Roadhouse but we don’t go often cuz its a 35 minute drive for us. The only chains close to us are McDonald’s, BK & Wendy’s. The kids don’t mind, but for just 2 of us we like something more!!
Eating out anywhere is always such a treat….but an Awesome Steak is hard to beat! Taste of Texas is our all time favorite Steak Place.
