This week it is cold and rainy. At least here in Houston. I just want soup and crock pot meals. When I plan my meals, I start with the protein part of the meal because that is the most expensive. I look to see what is on sale and then make my plan.
Monday – Slow Cooker Creamy Beef Stroganoff
- Randalls / Top Round Roast $2.99/lb.
Tuesday – Copy Cat Zuppa Toscana Soup from Olive Garden
- Kroger / Holmes Smoked Sausage $3 package
Wednesday – Chicken Tacos ( will need leftover meat for Chicken Soup Friday)
- Kroger / Split Chicken Breasts $.99/lb
- HEB / Hill Country Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts $1.97
Thursday – Parmesan Crusted Pork Loin Chops
- Kroger / Center Cut Pork Loin Chops $2.99/lb
Friday – Chicken Taco Soup ( use chicken meat from Wednesday )
- Kroger / Split Chicken Breasts $.99/lb
- HEB / Hill Country Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts $1.97

I was just sitting here at work thinking….what to make for dinner? You answered my prayers. Living in a congested traffic area, I work all day and spend a ton of time in traffic trying to get home. Crock pot meals guarantee my family gets a hot meal without wasting my time in the kitchen on top of an already long work day. Thanks for posting. I am going to try all of them 🙂
PS – we try to purchase the reduced meat regularly and then place it in the freezer until needed. I too have Italian sausage in the freezer thanks to a Safeway deal with coupon a few weeks ago 🙂
