I really want to clarify a sale from last week on the Ritz Cracker’s BOGO deal at Safeway. I have a really bitter taste in my mouth for Safeway after 2 incidences that occurred. The most recent was this past Sunday. I sent my hubby to purchase the crackers (on sale bogo). I gave him a Q valued at 1.00/2. After checking the many blogs that I follow, I saw that it was a legit deal to use the Q. The checker refused to take the Q, and was rude at that.
This same crabby checker accused my hubby of stealing inserts from papers just weeks ago. He was simply checking to see if all of the inserts were in the paper before purchasing. She got the manager involved, and she also accused him of stealing!! Needless to say, I contacted corporate. They pretty much informed me that we could not use the $1.00/2 Q for the transaction. Is that true? I really think that is a legit deal. Please correct me if I’m wrong. I always double check to make sure I can use a Q. Thanks for any advise that you may have.

I live in Tomball, so when I go to Randall’s to get their deals, I go to the one on Hwy 242 and Fm 1488. Without question, I was able to use that $1.00/2 crackers for the BOGO. I know it can be confusing out there when we are all out there trying to maximize our coupons with best deal.
As far as the incident with your husband being “called out” on those inserts, that was totally uncalled for. I would do the same thing.. Checking to make sure the inserts were in the paper. I get one delivered at home, but I will buy 3 more on the weekend. I have purchased papers at the store in the past that had missing inserts!! So, I’m sorry, he is justified in verifying those inserts. :D.
I also used The $1/2 coupon at The katy store without incident.
Thank you Misty and Angela! Safeway also advised me to take it up with the manager there as well. I moved from Katy, Tx to Colorado a couple of months ago. I still follow “My Litter” (and some others) as a lot of times, the sales ads in Houston are roughly the same as the Co. ads. The Colorado blogs aren’t that great.
I wasn’t a big fan of Safeway to begin with. The only good thing about them in our town is the meat deals! They’re great. I’m sticking with King Sooper (Kroger). Especially when they are doing the Mega Event! I’m also purchasing my papers at our local convenient store. So far no problems there, AND they are only $1.50. Thanks again!
