Ok confirmation from Kroger that YES indeed there is now a limit of 4 catalinas per transactions.
This is not the end of the world! No reason to get grouchy or yell at anyone, this is an amazing deal and great sale, hopefully it runs for 2 weeks which gives you a ton of time to get in there!
I have emailed my Kroger contact and asked for some kind of confirmation and for any changes that were made. But until we know for sure, I would only do 20 mega event items in each transaction.
What has probably happened is that corporate changed the catalina machines and then sent out an email that not every manger has read yet. So, many stores still have no idea that anything has changed just like many customers. Those that are not sure why they didn’t get the rest of the catalinas that they should and go to the customer service desk might be still getting their catalinas or a gift card as some stores are doing. But I am going to guess that by tomorrow, everyone will have read the email and HOPEFULLY put up signs to let you know.

I’m glad my sister and I went last night! We both had 35 items = $35 in catalinas that we turned around and used on a second transaction After we took the first load to the car). She’a a coupon newby and I went along for moral support and got some great deals to boot!
it actually just happened to me. I went to customer service and they gave me $20 in cash and apologized for it not working. I only got 4 and was supposed to get 8!
i called my Ralphs here in southern California and they told me that there was only one catalina per transaction 5 items at a time i’ll be there all day long
Dalila, that is correct, you didn’t quite ask the right question though unless I am not understanding what you are saying. Also calling tends to make the situation worse. I would advise against calling and just asking when you get there or trying it out to see what happens. If it isn’t the outcome you want, then RETURN the items and so the transaction again.
Are the catalinas still rolling?
Not sure yet. I am assuming at this point they are. But I need to get out and test it, but have to do dinner first!
I just got home from Kroger with my haul. I tried to only lump 15-20 items in one transaction to start with so I had no problems with my catalinas. They were still rolling this evening. I had one $5.00 on my last transaction for the night not print and had 2 catalinas out of 4 not print for the Campbell’s soup. I went to the customer service and they extremely nice and gave me cash for the mistake. A wonderful night!!!!
Did 2 transactions of 20 items each, an hour ago in Ottawa IL. They rolled.
Agreed it is still a great deal if they tell u the rules before you check out.

So can i still go buy all my stuff and get up to 4 catalinas. I wasnt planning on doing the roll over thing anyways. Just keep them for other things. SO i can do this up to 4 catalinas? Just want to make sure i dont have to roll them. which is fine also?
Yes!! you are just fine to do that!
This explains what happened to me, got 4 & rest from courtesy booth in cash. They did still roll as I did 2 more transactions.
I did some shopping during lunch today at the Kroger at W. Gray and Shepherd. I rolled the Catalina once.

YEs!! It is mix and match, so you can buy 1 of anything as long as you have 5 of the selected items.

OMG!! I was arguing with Kroger manager for an hour and did not get anything and he refused to return my $20 catalina!!
I went to shop with my sister and had (2) trans
and my Transaction(10 items) suppose to printout 2 catalinas total $10 but did not print any and my sister’s transaction (10 items) suppose to print 2 catalinas but only had (1) of $5.00
Spoke with customer service representative but asked me to return everything because he did not know how to generate catalinas.
Well, I did not want to hold long line so agreed and soon after Kroger manager showed up and accused me that i might be the person come store multiple times get things free that’s the reason why I cant get any more calitalinas automatically.
I started to shop yesterday and spent $20 and got $20 catalinas so I asked him to return my $20 catalinas back as long as I return everything I asked him to back my coupons and catalinas and he told me he couldn’t.
I briefly checked changed kroger policy but I am still purchasing $20 worth of goods and I don’t understand why this manager treate me like this.

I went this afternoon and did 2 transactions expecting $30 worth of Catalinas from each. I only received $20 in Catalinas. The Catalinas from the first transaction did roll onto the second, and customer service was kind enough to print the $20 in Catalinas that I did not receive. My next trip will be broken up into 20 item transactions 🙂
catalinas ARE still rolling
I went tonight and only 4 out of the 7 catalinas printed. So my Kroger gave me a gift card for $30 to make up for the catalinas that didn’t print.
I just had the best experience at my kroger!! Earlier today I bout 15 items. The potatoes and refried beans and spent 16 OOP and got $15 in catalinas back. Well decided to make beef and bean burritos for dinner so I picked up velveeta, rotel, taco seasoning, cookies and toaster strudels. The manager said catalinas were not printing this evening so he gave me a $5 credit on my transaction!! Score! Kroger ended up paying me 54 cents! What a great night 🙂
Has anyone noticed if Lunchables with the smoothies is included? I received a printout that there is a catalina for those. I know it was buy 4 get $ OYNO. So maybe if we are lucky they are included and it would be a double catalina?

I did it!! my first time. had 5 five transactions. Only did the 4 catalinas at a time. Spent 69.05 OOP with 20.00 so actually 49.05 got 96 items!!

I went this morning and along with my husband and we did 6 transactions. Yes, it’s shocking, I’m teaching him how, lol!! We got $76.35 worth of products paying out of pocket $16.68!!! That’s a BIG Woo-Hoo!!!!!! Thanks so much for your hard work, Tiffany!!! Love your site, I’m in Galveston and it really helps to have a site that is for our region!!!
i hate shopping at kroger’s, they have the worst customer service. i always find errors on my receipts, either they scaned the wrong price, which i get for free or entered the wrong price which i get for free, or do scan all of the coupons….and then you have to fight them over everything…when they reimburse you, they forget to add the tax you paid, one store will not accept certain coupons, but another store will….i have 2 stores that are w/in 2 miles of one another and they have different prices and deals….sometimes the prices are as great as a 1.00. they have the feeling that they are always right and the customer is always wrong, even at corporate level….

I went last nigh and was also told that there is a limit of 3 of the $5 Catalinas being redeemed per transaction. I also lost out on receiving one of mine the other day because i didn’t know about the change in the printing limit 🙁 you would think that they should post those types of changes.
It is a limit of 4. They are just telling you three for some reason.
I saw that this had changed – when i came to your site to “copy” your transaction LOL didn’t quite get all of the items you listed on your mega event/catalina deal – but close lol my total was 87.96 – and with coupons and card discounts i was 57.84 OOP 34% savings ( dang it– still can’t get that 50% savings ) teh cashier gives me my recpt -and then goes for the catalinas–and gasp – THEY ARE BLANK!!!! he asked — are you waiting on these? i politely stated yes i am– i have another basket to buy… the manager came over — they couldn’t figure out why they didn’t “print” – so we are waiting — i have my meat in the 2nd basket — the manager was able to force print mine! and i had 6! so i used those 6 ($30) and 3 $2 off that i recd last week – and — drum roll!— total recpt- 93.22—with coupons, card and catalina’s– $44.81 ! YEAAAAA i FINALLY hit over 50% savings LOL- doubt i will ever be able to do that again!
My Kroger said I could get four per transaction which is fine but would not let me use them in the same day. The manager said I have to come back the next day to use them. He also said by me using them in the same day would not be fair to other shoppers which did not make sense when I was going to use it on other iteams that were not on sale. I think I am going to try a different Kroger.
How do you know exactly what qualifysin the 5 for 5 deal?
