::UPDATE – PLEASE READ!!!::
Jake’s Finer Foods has generously offered a driver and semi truck for a trip to Moore, OK and we are helping them fill the truck!!! BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP!!
We will be at the Kroger Grocery Store in The Woodlands, 6700 Woodlands Pkwy, The Woodlands, TX 77382
- Saturday 8am – 2pm & Sunday 11am – 4pm
::This is what they need::
- Toothpaste
- Toothbrushes
- Soap laundry detergent
- New towels and wash clothes
- Toiletries – Shampoo, conditioner, razors etc.
- Baby items – Diapers, wipes, etc.
- New pillows
- Sheets and blankets
- CLEANING SUPPLIES!!!
- Paper Towels
- Trash Bags
- Pet Food
- NO CLOTHING!!!!
Thank you to:
- Maria at Harmony School for getting the word out!
- Football Coaches from Cypress Falls High School!
- Shelly at Consolidated for making it an office wide project!
- Heather from Freebies4Mom for dropping off items!
- Kaylene, from Clements High School and Highlands Elementary for letting them know how they can help. Her kids at the High School LOVE to help with projects like this! Way to go!
- The ladies who already brought in supplies this morning!
This is the deal, we will be working with a Disciples of Christ church near Moore as a location to where we are dropping off these items. People will be getting some help from the Red Cross as far as gift cards to get supplies and some clothing. We are trying to help them get through until they start getting insurance help.
They will not be needing home items at this time.
Think, “what would you need to help your family with basic needs…” Bedding is ALWAYS needed, items in good or NEW condition. SOCKS! Toiletries and wipes are ALWAYS wanted!
See how to make a hygiene kit HERE.
I will be at The Woodlands Christian church all day tomorrow. You can email me at mylitter@mac.com with any questions.
::Helpful Tips::
- Red Cross – Register and find friends and family
- Oklahoma Fans Facebook Page
- Salvation Army
- U-Haul offering 30 Days Free Storage to OK victims
- The Salvation Army care for disaster survivors and first responders. Text STORM to 80888 to donate $10 to the recovery and relief efforts.
- In an emergency you want to text, not call because it uses less tower frequency and leaves the lines open for emergency personnel.
- Also, if you want to donate to aid agencies, go online… don’t text – online donations get there faster, text donations have to be billed through the cell phone companies and take longer to get there.

I’ve got family members in the Moore area, and they say it’s pretty bad. They have people in their house tonight (they were 2 miles from the path of the tornado), and there are a lot of people displaced. Add that to the fact that half of the town of Carney was destroyed yesterday, and Shawnee and Bethel Acres took serious damage, and we have a TON of displaced people and cleanup here in OK.
If you’re donating items, the number one thing that they always need is WATER. After that, and cleaning supplies are worth gold. It’s what they’re telling people up here to donate and what a few friends in the Red Cross have recommended to me.
Tiffany says
Thank you so much for the update. Please let us know what they need!
Terresa S says

Hand Sanitizer
Sunscreen
Thank you all for helping the families affected by this disaster.

I have sent an email out at work and plan to collect items from everyone at work to bring them up to the Woodlands on Friday. This is a great way to reach a lot of people so no matter how big or small your office is you should all do the same!
Tiffany says
AWESOME Idea!!!!! PLease pass that on!
Stephanie says
I am receiving a lot of great questions – since we travel a lot for work people are asking how they can donate points for hotel stays? Do you know of a good outlet for doing that?
Also, can the sheets be gently used as long as they are washed/clean???
I am excited – I may have to make more than one trip!
Tiffany says
Yes sheets gently used and clean are awesome!
I am not sure on the points that is a great question, I will ask around!
Stephanie says
OK people are starting to bring me items at work. Should items be separated in a particular fashion? Are boxes or bags better?
Tiffany says
BOXES!!!! I am having to repack in boxes!
Anonymous says
I have boxes and donations to bring. Am I understanding this correctly, we are to being things to Kroger Sterling Ridge Sat or Sun and not to the church today?
Tiffany says
You are welcome to come to the church on Friday. Saturday and Sunday we will be at the Kroger a few miles away from the church in the Sterling ridge center.

We’ve collected several boxes of things and plan to bring them up Friday or Saturday. I will also bring you some gas money. A couple of questions:
Do you want car seats? A couple of nice Britax seats were donated but I can re-donate if there is not a need.
Also, do you want clothes/baby clothes… or just specific items (like socks/tshirts/etc)
Thanks again!!
Tiffany says
You know I think car seats are a good idea!
No clothing! They wont take any right now!
Jill says
Thanks!
Allison says
Tiffany,
I am going to try and bring some stuff tomorrow. Where at the Church do I drop it off? Thanks!
Stephanie Shackelford says
Does your last comment mean you need boxes? I will bring several when i drop off our donations. Do you need all sizes?
Question says
Where at the church do we drop the donations off? Front office?
Tiffany says
NO change of plans!!! Meet at the Kroger Sterling Ridge and Woodlands Parkway on Saturday 8-2 and Sunday 11-4.
Stephanie says
I had planned to bring items tomorrow (Friday) afternoon. I have a whoke car load I think. Are you not accepting at the church any longer?
Tiffany says
YES! You are welcome to come to the church on Friday! If it is later in the afternoon (after 3-4), you might have to just leave it by the front door and I will come back a few times to check and see through out the night to put things in the church.

Tiffany says
They can’t take any clothing at all. NONE, I have heard they just even throw it away if you bring it up. So Sorry!!! I am not sure on the baby stuff. It seems like it would be needed but at this point they don’t have anywhere to separate it at. I would say just hang onto it for now 🙁
