I have been posting some price match deals at Walmart lately and many of you have questions on how to price match. It is very easy, please do not be scared! Paul did a video a while back to show you how, I would suggest watching it.
There are a few things that have changed since he made it in Walmarts new price matching policy.
- You can price match a BOGO sale as long as there is a stated price like, Buy 1 at $4, get one free.
- You do not have to have your other store ads with you. Personally, I like to just to avoid any problems, also It helps me remember what I wanted to get.

Why price match?
I price match so I don’t have to go to a bunch of stores, I want to go to just one and get in and out. Also, many drug stores sell out fast and are out of stock. There is no limit on how many items you can price match, I have done my entire cart. You can also use coupons and price match an item. Sometimes stores will tell you that you can’t, I would explain that no where in the price match policy does it say that you can’t, plus if you can’t then why price match? I would buy my items at the other store where I could use my coupons. The purpose of price matching is so that you use your coupons and buy the product in their (walmarts) store.

My wife and I did our first major price match this past weekend. We printed out the adds for the mexican/spanish stores (which typically run CRAZY!!!!! adds on produce. We got Roma’s 3#/$1, regularly $1.34/#! Ground beef, $1/#, without any stipulation on grade or mix, so we got the 93/7 which was $3.46/#. Limes, 50/$1…$.20 saved each! Pineapples for $1 versus $2.99. Medium eggs, $.50/dz. Kroger, Randalls, and all the rest can have some good deals, sometimes even great deals to price match, but the mercados have some mega deals as well. Don’t forget to add them to your arsenol.

That makes complete sense. I’m still learning little things as I get more experienced in the couponing hobby (best one I’ve ever taken up). I love this idea. Before i got to the point you made about the shelves being bare that was what I thought in my head. WOW I can go find an item at Walmart. I always end up with Rain Checks building up in my purse from CVS because they run out quickly and don’t order enough of the super sale products. I have no idea why as it seems as if they are missing out on more sales by doing this. I know this is trailing from the subject but I also just found out that CVS rain checks, even the ones with ECBs involved never expire. I was about to clear my purse out thinking they had gone obsolete with the dates when I saw they never expire. Good to know so I can wait for the next set of coupons that correlates with those and take advantage of those.

Your tip to take the ad with you is a great idea. I don’t price match much but I did to buy some crayons when they were on sale for $.25 at Krogers. I got asked for the ad when I told them the price match. I didn’t have it and they let it go, but I know from now on that I should take it with me even if they are advertising all over TV that you don’t have to bring an ad in with you.

question: i have thought of this but guess i would miss the register rewards. Does this not factor in to this?

Thank you for this!

I have gone to two different walmarts here and they have both just ad matched the bottom line price listed, after the register rewards. I love it because it’s like getting to use the reward right away, not having to wait for my next transaction, and I can do it without limit!

Went 2 local Walmart…nightmare..shopped for ad items almost entirely, only a few dozen but took me 2 hours reading, sizing, etc. ..told cashier of coupons and separated accordingly….had to pull each item (apr 20 things) out when he tried to apply coupon, called manager over on 2nd one, they would not allow percentages off (Walgreen ad, which I had with me!) would not allow 2nd item at half price, would not allow rewards…the cashier asked me after 8th coupon why was I shopping at Walmart if I had all these Walgreen coupons…I explained ..was trying to limit trips all over town/one store, chose them for variety, etc. After 30 minutes at checkout and having to “unring”/put back about 12 of my 20 couponed items, I had to smile and leave quickly before I ruined my “testamony”. Will take their written policy next time, pray first and stand my ground….horrible experience ….I will get better at this! (a few days later they refused Walgreen’s photo ad also!!)
