This morning when I got up, stumbled into the bathroom half awake, did my business and then looked for the TP, I could not find it.
WHY?
Because it was ON THE FLOOR where it had been sitting 1/2 used because no one but me in the ENTIRE house knows how to put it where it goes when the old roll is done! I have gone into the bathroom to find the roll on the counter, one done in the holder and 3 empty ones on the floor.
Then it occurred to me. Maybe I never showed them how to do it? Maybe my husbands mother never showed him how to do it?
I decided at 6am that I would make an instructional video that YES we will actually be watching as a family tonight. Which I am sure will go over well with the 5 and up crowd. Sarcasm and snarkyness usually get the point across.
Is this a problem at your house? Am I the only lucky one?
P.S. Please excuse my appearance, I went to bed at 1:30am as each of my kids had a friend spend the night along with much of my daughters softball team, and got up at 5:30am to work.

Hilarious!
Need an update after the video is shown tonight!

It’s not just you. I have found the roll on the edge of the tub, towel holder, sink, floor, anywhere but the holder. Great video
Ann says
You should accompany the video with a potty training book. I’m sure moms everywhere would buy it lol
Deanna says
Do you think it would be too overwhelming to incorporate flushing also, so do you think that should be a separate video??? LOL I called my three boys to watch this “life changing” video. Hopefully they learned something from it. Too funny but OH so true!!!

YOU R MY HERO!!!!

I had to see this as my husband doesnt replace it either. We even have a really cool holder that is open on one side so the roll slips on without pulling anything apart and yet there will be a completely empty roll on it when i need to use the bathroom. your idea to have a family meeting is a wonderful idea, like i always say each person needs to pick up after themselves and that includes replacing the roll.

This is absolutely hillarious!!! love it!

You are too funny! You are also WAY more patient than I am. After repeatedly having your same problem, I had a melt down and threatened to throw all the TP in the house away (except for a private stash that I would keep hidden for myself). Faced with having to go to the gas station in the front of our neighborhood, my family is finally getting better!

Ha ha ha
I even replaced our toilet paper holders at home with the single arm kind. There was no need to use the spring insert thing just slide off and slide on.
Mysteriously, the roll would be wedged or strategically anywhere else but the holder.

I need to show this video to my family! I have OFTEN thought to myself “Am I really the only one who knows how to put on a new roll?” Because yes, evidently I AM.

I LOVE IT! Instead of having movie night tonight, we are going to watch this video OVER AND OVER again until they really get it! I don’t know why it’s only moms who know this “secret”. Thank you for posting.

There are certain things in life that only females are blessed with the genius intelligence and nimbleness of hands to be able to accomplish. Changing a roll of toliet paper is one of them. Putting a new tube of toothpaste out is another. Taking an empty glass to the sink is yet another. How about those dirty clothes making it into the hamper? Yes, the list is endless and I, for one, feel so superior knowing that I’m one of the chosen few who can accomplish such tasks!! 😀

OMG i thought it was just haapening to me. It happens at home and it happens at work too. Shall we talk about how no one knows the recipe for making ice cubes but me either…….
Kim says
OMG! That makes me crazy too!!!
Same thing here in my house!! I think we are going to watch your video as a family too, tonight….
Stephanie says
This and not reloading the paper towel dispenser are two of my biggest pet peeves….I think I need to show the people at my work the instructional video because apparently it doesn’t just happen at home – it happens at work too!
Leanne says
My husband thinks if he leaves 1 square of toilet paper attached to the roll, it’s not empty, so he doesn’t have to change it!
Anessa says
This is super hilarious, and so true!! I deal with this very same issue all of the time!
Marie says
I feel for you. You are a super mom and have such patience. It kinda reminds me of when you go into some public restrooms and have to go to each toilet to find one with paper loaded in the dispenser. Plus all the rolls both full and empty laying on the ground. LOL! Give an update on everyones reaction when you show them your video.
