Ever wonder “How Does Kohl’s Cash Work?”
From time to time, Kohl’s offers Kohl’s Cash on purchases for a select earning period. Then, after you’ve earned it there’s a specific redemption period. Below are the ins and outs of making this program work to your advantage.
Earning Kohl’s Cash
Purchase $50 or more in merchandise after coupons at Kohls.com or at your local Kohl’s store, during the earning period stated in the promtion.
For every $50 you accumulate in purchases, Kohl’s will issue you a $10 “Kohl’s Cash” code or voucher that can be redeemed at a specific later date on a purchase. Online purchasers receive their Kohl’s Cash via email, in store purchasers receive it at checkout.
There is no limit to the amount of Kohl’s Cash you can earn. The more you spend, the more you get.
Redeeming Kohl’s Cash
When the redemption period time comes, you spend your Kohl’s Cash just like cash in the store or 0nline. $10 in Kohl’s Cash is redeemed BEFORE coupon codes are applied. (So, if you have a $40 order, $10 in Kohl’s Cash and a 20% off code – $40 minus $10 Kohl’s Cash THEN 20% off the remaining $30 amount = $24 before tax & shipping.)
To use it online, go to Kohls.com and enter the 15 digit coupon number and 4 digit PIN number when you checkout and the value of your Kohl’s Cash will come off your order. When redeeming online there is a limit of 4 Kohl’s Cash codes per order.
You can spend your Kohl’s Cash in store if you choose, just take them to the store.
What is allowed?
You can purchase anything in the store, including regular price, sale and clearance items with your Kohl’s Cash.
What is not allowed?
Kohl’s Cash can NOT be used to pay your Kohl’s Charge Card or to buy gift cards. Kohl’s Cash is also not allowed for purchases of Kohl’s Cares® merchandise or as price adjustments on prior purchases.

Kohl’s cash effectively never expires! There are redemption dates written on the Kohls cash voucher but if those dates pass before you use it, just take it into your store during the next redemption period and they should honor it. I live in Florida and this is what my store manager told me is Kohls policy, not just something they do at my store. (Doesn’t work online though)
Not True, When the Date on the Kohls cash is past you lose it, Why do people think that this expitarion date goes forever does Macys extend it NO,, Do Coupons printed in paper from manufactur go On NO. Use it in the Date and if you forget it you lose it.
It doesn’t expire. Just used two “expired” ones.
I used to throw the expired coupons away. Then a cashier tells me they honor them for another month or so. Good to know they accept them at any redemption period in the future. thanks.

It depends on the store. The Kohl’s store Where I accepts expired Kohl’s cash, whereas the store 10 miles up the road doesn’t.
FYI – it’s never been “policy” for Kohl’s to accept expired Kohl’s Cash, it was always something stores did to make customers happy. Recently, Cooperate has told us that all stores must STOP taking expired coupons, and this has already gone into effect at the store I work at.
Kohls Cash that has expired is no longer being accepted, thank God.
I was told in July by the store mgr. that effective August 1, 2014, Kohls would no longer accept expired Kohl’s Cash.

What if you don’t show your kohls cash until after you’ve been given your %discount…ex I spent $100, had a 30% off($30 off) I go to pay and show my $20 kohls cash…do I then only pay $50? Or does the computer “fix” it so I pay 30% of $80 (-$24) or $56? Therefore losing out on $6?
It will autocorrect on the total and take the Kohl’s Cash off and then reapply the 30% discount. Doesn’t matter which order you give it, the register will calculate based on their rules.
If Kohls stops taking expired coupons, and it is getting close to the expiration period and you want more time. Buy something and return at a later date. They should issue you a store credit.
