Seriously? I go to the store today and get Rhodes Rolls, you know the already made frozen balls of dough that you unthaw and bake and are melt in your mouth good.
Well, we were in a hurry to leave and so I tossed everything into the fridge and figured I would unload the canned stuff when we got home.
I just walked into the kitchen 5 hours later, and find the Rhodes Rolls unthawed, in the bag, on the floor?!
I guess we are all having 64 rolls and butter for a late Sunday night snack!
Has anyone else done this?
Meghan says
Oh no! I do that stuff…all. the. time.
Bobbie says
You should have said something! I would have gladly come and helped you handle those. They’re also good rolled in butter and then cinnamon and sugar for a breakfast treat if you haven’t baked them all yet.
Tiffany says
Seriously, you should smell my house right now! My keyboard is all buttery from eating them. Have you rolled them in parmesan cheese and baked them that way… OMGosh!
Laura B says
Hey, at least it wasn’t meat! Make lunch sandwiches for tomorrow out of what doesn’t get eaten this evening.
Christie says
Funny you mention this. I did it today, but it was the Sister Schubert rolls.
Ginger says
Oh this happens to me a lot. I even BEG the sackers to put all of my cold stuff together so I don’t find surprises in my canned good bag. I even have trained my girls to help me unload the grocery cart with all frozen and other cold items going on the checkout first. Try to make it easy for the sackers. I still find rolls/yogurt… mixed in with my not cold stuff. Bugs me to death! I do almost all of the work for them! Sorry for your ‘loss’. Yummy snack tho!!

I’ve even picked up milk before on my way home and totally forgot about it in the car until several hours later!!!

My daughter’s friend, a goofy student at A&M, left a package of RAW chicken in the trunk of his ratty old car. For several days he drove around with his friends and no one could figure out why it smelled like something dead in the car…until they finally opened the trunk and found the package of slimy chicken *gag*!

since i have 7 kids too i can relate!!i drive a 12 passenger van and have had groceries “roll under the seats”not to be discovered for days later 🙁 at least you had a good snack!!i have never tried these rolls, but now i am going to!!lol
Nicole says
I have done the same thing! I went ahead and baked them and then used them for breakfast the next morning 😉
Lisa says
We make Kolaches out of them. HEB has smoked sausage links for $2 for a 12/pk, and you can make 4 dozen kolaches for about $.35 each, if you don’t have coupons for the rolls or cheese. My daughter won’t even eat the fast food anyones, i make these and freeze them and she has breakfast for weeks.
Catherine says
Have you ever left the canned biskets in your car?
Only to have them roll under a seat and scare you days later when they POP!
You think someone is shooting at you or you’ve blown a tire.
Tiffany my daughters & I loved the conference.

Tiffany… You should try stuffing them with pepperoni and baking according to the directions on the package. My husband is from WV and this is what they eat for a snack. Warning…. They are good and you will get requests for more !

Sorry sweetie. . . but have to laugh. Have been there. Also, you can roll those thawed out puppies in cinnamon and sugar, get out the bundt pan and have a lovely breakfast cake . .. . .
We are trying to make easy meals right now and thank you for the $5 dinner mom at the seminar. We are in our late 60’s and 70’s. My husband has Stage IV colon cancer and we have been raising a child for the last five years . . . .we received her when she was 2 and 9 months. We love her more than anything in the world . . everything was under contol until my heart went a bit bonkers this last week and I have been spending time going from hospital to doctor. Still no resolution with the chest pains . . .and tons of chest pain. One of my friends made a bunch of frozen food and sent it home with me today in one of her coolers . . . .thank God for angels who swoop down. And now the six year old has strep with Grandpa coming off our round 14 of chemo . . . jeeze. Take that thawed bread dough and have a blast. You guys are young . . . enjoy. Did you know that you can deep fat fry that dough and have the most delicious doughnuts you every have tasted with sugar and cinnamon dusted on the fried dough? signing off. Too tired but thanks for the CVS heads up. GOing to try that iron and see if it gives me a boost to make it through the holidays . . . don’t know how we are going to get the house decorated. When it rains . . . it pours. Just like at the seminar.

Miss Vicki! What amazing friends you have, and what a blessing. Take care of yourself! Is there someone that can watch the 6 year old so Grandpa doesn’t get sick?
