Be sure to be buying other stuff when trying to get this deal. I just got back from my DG in Conroe and the manager would not let me purchase the $1 sale nail stickers with my $1 off coupon in a lone transaction. This was after the register rang up total of $0.00 (I still dont know why the tax wasnt charged?- is it possible the clerk mistakingly added my coupon before subtotaling with the tax?) Anyhoo the manager told me I could not buy anything in the store if the coupon for it made it free….unless I was paying for other stuff along with it. He couldnt give me a good reason why I wasn’t charged tax in the first place. He said that coupons have to come off before the taxes are subtotaled in the final bill. HUH??? He said all stores do that. WHAT??? No one does that. Then I realized I was arguing over a dollar item for a fun thing to go in my daughters Easter basket.
I asked him to re-explain like 3 times. He kept saying that the government needed their share too. Then he finally said “that’s the way it was explained to me, and our computer/registers are really old.” UGH!!!!
