If you are a new couponer and have not tried your hand at CVS yet, I want you to give it a shot this week!
CVS has the Trident or Stride gum on sale for $.99. If you buy it you will get a ECB back on your receipt for $.99, basically making it free!
This is what I want you to do:
Walk into CVS ( I am making this easy for you!) ask the cashier for a CVS card if you do not have one. Walk over to the red box and scan your card, just to see what coupons you get, this has nothing to do with the deal 🙂
Then, grab one of the packs of gum, that are in the ad for $.99, they should also be marked in the store. Purchase it, hand over your CVS card to be scanned, and pay $.99 + tax. Now, on the bottom of your receipt you got a $.99 ECB back! You can tear this off and turn around and use it right away. It is basically like a gift card to CVS.
Now if you want to get really crazy, you can buy 2 packs of Stride gum, use the $1 off 2 coupon that came in the SS 04/03/11 ( April 3rd Smart Source insert in your Sunday paper). You will only get ECB’s back for 1 pack. But the deal looks like this:
Buy 2 Packs Stride Gum
Use 1 $1/2 Stride gum coupon form the SS 04/03/11
Total: $.98
Get back: $.99 ECB
**Look you just got paid $.01 to buy that!
At this point you can walk out with your $.99 ECB and keep it for next week or you can turn around and go find something to spend it on.
One idea would be to walk over and use your $.99 ECb on a box of Puff, they will have to “adjust down” the ECB to $.98. But you get the Puff totally free! Now it does not give you back any ECB’s so you might want to find something with ECB’s to buy !

I’m @ the CVS on Research Forest & Gosling the sign says the open @ 7am and so does there recording when you call them! I’ve been here since 7:15 its 7:45 now and they’re still not open! Uuugggghhhhh so frustrating!
The Manager finally showed up @ 8:15 I got all my stuff got to my coupons and they all expired YESTERDAY! :'( I think I’m going to cry the whole way home! I would have gotten sooooooo….. much stuff FREE I’m sick =(
And it gets better! I think the red light camera @ Research and Gosling just got me =/

talk about a bad morning 🙁 I’m sorry. I love that CVS too. I live in Panther Creek but drive the little extra to go to that one. They never treat me like a criminal because I use coupons, unlike the one in Panther Creek.

I did this today! I bought 2 gallons of milk also which gave me ECB so I got 3 Puffs for free. 2 milks/2 gums/3 puffs for $7.34. I always thought CVS would be hard like Walgreens.
