I keep reading all your emails to my husband. I am so happy that so many of you are shopping at Kroger for the first time or trying any of these coupon deals and a mega event for the first time!

Kroger has changed the sale to a limit of 4 catalina’s per transaction. The reason that they do this is to make sure that they have the stock available for all their customers. It is pretty irritating to plan a trip and walk in a store and find the shelves empty. Now, if you can imagine being a Kroger manager and having a bunch of screaming customers as to why you have nothing stocked, when it was cleared out by 2-3 people is hard. Just something to keep in mind.

Ok confirmation from Kroger that YES indeed there is now a limit of 4 catalinas per transactions. 

This is not the end of the world! No reason to get grouchy or yell at anyone, this is an amazing deal and great sale, hopefully it runs for 2 weeks which gives you a ton of time to get in there! 

I have emailed my Kroger contact and asked for some kind of confirmation and for any changes that were made. But until we know for sure, I would only do 20 mega event items in each transaction.

What has probably happened is that corporate changed the catalina machines and then sent out an email that not every manger has read yet. So, many stores still have no idea that anything has changed just like many customers. Those that are not sure why they didn’t get the rest of the catalinas that they should and go to the customer service desk might be still getting their catalinas or a gift card as some stores are doing. But I am going to guess that by tomorrow, everyone will have read the email and HOPEFULLY put up signs to let you know.

** There is the possibility that you might be limited to 4 $5 catalinas per transaction. To be safe I would check out in multiples of 4 sets of 5, so 20 items in each transaction.

My total after coupons was $43.51 and I got $50.75 in Catalina’s ($50 from General Mills and $.75 from Lipton), I also earned $5.85 from Saving Star. After cats and saving star I came out $13.09 more than I had before I walked into the store!!!

For many of you ( including me ) Kroger has 2 great sales going right now. The Cart Buster and the 5 for $5 Mega Event. BUT, the tags sure do look a lot alike and I think that some of you are confusing the 2, which is completely understandable!

Tag “A” – Cart Buster – Is a fun event with certain brands and offers an e-coupon every day you can load to your card. Today it is save $1 on Wishbone.

Tag “B” – Mega Event – This is the buy 5 get $5 back in catalinas that I have been freaking out about! These are the tags to be looking for the most. Make sure that they say 5 for $5 on the right side.

As you can see above, they look an awful lot alike, but they are 2 different sales. If you have had some confusion and a catalina didn’t print, make sure you are grabbing the correct products.

I got all 86 of these items (meant to get 85) on the 5 for $5 sale from your posting for ONLY $44.90!  I did 10 transactions and got $85 in catalinas back which i rolled into each of the next transactions.  I used all the coupons you listed (except the Totino’s pizza because I didnt have that one, but figured I could splurge the $1.25 total for 5 pizzas!). If you need additional coupon for the Kroger Mega Event there are a few ways you can get some.

First, make sure that you have printed from every possible computer! LOL! Ask friends, family, etc. to print coupons for you. I have the ability to print from work as well. Check your papers to see what coupons you have there.

Finally, you can use e-coupons as well. Load Cellfire coupons to your Kroger card for additional savings.

If you have not signed up for Savings Star it is another way to save.

Savings Star has ecoupons that can be added to your store’s loyalty card (like you already do with Cellfire etc.) and when you purchase that product at participating stores (CVS, Rite Aid, Albertsons, Dillon’s, Kroger, Ralph’s and many more stores) the eCoupon amount is added to your Saving Star account. When you reach $5, you can redeem your savings for Paypal or Amazon gift cards.

It is easy to do:

• Sign up for Savings Star HERE and add you stores loyalty card numbers (you can find these usually on the back of your cards)
• Click and add ecoupons to your account
• Go shopping and when you purchase an item that had a Savings Star coupon, the coupon amount will be paid back to you!
• When you get $5 or more in your account cash it out for cash via Paypal, your bank account or for Amazon gift cards!

Currently they have a BUNCH of the coupons that are part of the Mega Event!
