Can we please have a moment of silence?
If you have tried to call or text me in the past 12 hours, I just want you to know that I have a good excuse for not answering. See the above evidence. Also known as my Christmas present from my husband.
Just incase you were wondering, the “Find my iPhone app” actually works. We spent all night pinging my phone and never found it. Put the kids to bed and stood on the porch to try one more time at 1:00am and heard a faint pinging.
Started following the sound down the street in my cookie monster footie P.J.’s and about a block away found it in the middle of the road.
Sad day.

Awwwwww. Was it insured?

So sorry! Do you know how it got there? :'(
Thank goodness for Apple’s awesome customer service program! We’ve had 2 iPod Touch’s replaced for free because of it! (We never got extra warranty with them either). Poor thing, looks so sad!
Tiffany says
No idea, I am guessing it ended up on a bumper of a car, but really have no idea.

That blows! When you get a new phone, you need to invest in a Life Proof case. They aren’t the cheapest things around, but they are waterproof and really protect your iphone from drops, spills, etc. You can actually take video up to 6 feet under water with one! My hubby is a truck driver and he’s dropped his in mud, snow, puddles, you name it and he just rinses it right off!
Tiffany says
I actually have one. It was taken off the day before because I was on the phone with my Grandma and I was having a hard time hearing her because of the case, and so I took it off.

aww man, thats no good. Here I thought my screen was bad. 2yro got ahold of it and dropped it. Screen cracked all on the top portion but it still works. Just some tape to hold the screen in and were good till we up for renewal in APRIL. lol Then I go see yours… yikes. I don’t think tape will fix that. Bummer. Sorry.
Jillian says
So now you must save your allowance and you are grounded!
Toni says
Try the apple store, being that its really new they may give you a new phone. At one time they had an unwritten policy that they will replace a one time tragedy. Lot of people haven’t had luck with this (including me) but I know lots of people who have, I think it’s worth a try.
Houstonmama Charity says
If the phone is still usable but just the screen is cracked you can get it repaired at Houston iPhone Repair, it’s on Katy Fwy near Memorial City Mall and costs $109. I’ve taken my husband’s ipad there and waited while it was fixed (one hour).

WOW! I’m SO sorry! That being said…if it still works, we have an AWESOME repair service here (Dallas area) that can repair EVERYTHING but soldering the circuit board. They are local in my town and work out of their home so no massive overhead. Rockwall iPhone repair. Check out their site (also on FB). I’ve had the same phine there twice for cracked screen (teen boy) and now have the 12 yr olds being repaired for a shatterred screen and a broken camera. Just a thought!

As a claims adjuster I declare your phone a total loss. It needs more than a screen. Even if you have the “insurance” you will not be satisified with the outcome. We just went through all this with T-mobile and they were terrible. My daughter’s screen got crushed and the “insurance” was going to cost us 125.00 for a refurbished phone–not new. We argued that was ridiculous since new customers can get a much better deal, to no avail. My wife cancelled her T-mobile accounts altogether and went to AT&T instead and got 2 brand new phones for 35 bucks each. I am sure AT&T will have their own set of issues but the way they just give phones away to new customers but refuse to help current customers really hacks me off. And it is not just cell phones, it is with a lot service companies anymore
Keegan says
I’m a metro customer currently. But I’ve been with AT&T as well as another ( I don’t remember the name right now)… It’s pretty standard for those companies to have this attitude towards current customers. They pretty much figure since they already have you, they don’t have to be nice to you. It sucks, and I’ve gone clear to corporate with the ‘shucks darn, not our problem’ response all the way up. I’ve heard some really awesome things regarding Apple, though. So good luck.

I really am sorry for your loss, but that is one funny story! I hope the hubby isnt too upset. ๐

oh, man! That blows! Your Christmas gift only lasted a little over a month? And I’m sure you were (notice this is “past tense”) using this a lot for your blogging. Good luck w/ a fix or new one. Let us know how you remedy this, so we all have insight for future mishaps.
Tiffany says
I was that is why he got me one that was faster. I think I am just going back to my old phone ๐
Kelly Woodward says
Tiffany,
Not sure if you reloved you issue yet but let me know if you neeed any help, its my business.
Caro says
If it’s functional, you can take it to any apple store. If you don’t get lucky, and they don’t replace it try craiglist. There are many people fixing iPhones. Last resources, it’s you. You can get the screen and replace it. I’ve done it before, but it tedious.

I recently pinned this on pinterest in my reference later folder – lol. Not sure if it is just the screen or if the phone still works (I am thinking since it was Pinging it still works???), but this may be a cheaper option – http://www.littlebitfunky.com/2012/09/how-to-replace-your-iphone-4-screen.html
