* They had to suspend my transaction because they were out of register tape. Because they did this I knew my $10 catalina would not print. All I did was tell them I was expecting the catalina and they were able to put in the key code and print me a $10 P&G catalina. They have the ability to do this, just a heads up if that ever happens to you!

how do you use catalinas. like the one you got here at HEB, can you only use it at HEB?
Yes it can only be used at HEB after the 19th of September, you will get $10 off a $30 purchase.
I did the transaction exactly as you did. The catalina didn’t print because my subtotal was $28.82. I returned the lipstick for two slightly more expenisve ones and the catalina printed.
Is this deal only for today?

Hi! I get the Houston Chron and have looked a few times and I don’t see the $5/2 CoverGirl Lip Product, (SS 09/16/12). I had two SS inserts, what was on the backside of the page that the CG was on? Thank you!

A little disappointed. I let my nerves and an older lady cashier cost me money! Grrrrr… I did this deal today. There wasn’t any more of the $3.47 Cover Girl left. It had all been pretty well picked over. So I got 2 of the $4.94 lipstick. Plus, there were only 3 of the shampoos which is what I had coupons for so that was great but there were only the BIG pump $6.67 conditioners left. The coupon said buy one shampoo and get a condition free (up to $6.99) so I took the big pump conditioner. The older lady cashier said, “I can’t give you $1 off your free conditioner” and I was like, ok. So I paid $16.12 for 3 large shampoos, 3 BIG pump conditioners, & 2 Cover Girl lip sticks. I still saved $29.91 and got back a 10 catalina. But I didn’t do as well as you did and I’m not sure exactly how I’m $10 off your OOP. I also did another transaction where I bought the Deans Heat and Eat, (got my $1 catalina) 3 Ken’s salad dressings, 4 Cover Girl mascaras, 4 Cover Girl Eye Shadows, 1 Revlon colorstay, 1 Revlon powder. I saved $49.33 and my OOP was $18.76. Still probably could have done better. I did get another $10 catalina. Thanks for posting such great deals and helping so many of us save money!!!
Kristina, you did GREAT! Seriously you saved a BUNDLE today! The cashier was wrong, she just didn’t want to do it. You had the $4.97 shampoo right? I am not sure why it was that far off. But you did great!
Wow, you all did great, especially Tiffany, I won’t even try on our HEB, last time when they ran something like this, I broght over $36 P&G, after coupon I paid around $16, and catalina didn’t print out the cashier said you need to go to the customer service I went and the cashier said “oh, it’s because you use too much coupons and the amount is not enough, and it’s the machine print it we can’t do anything. I really don’t like to shop at HEB.
Yes, I had the $4.97 shampoo. I’m not too worried. I still got $114 worth of stuff for les than $40 OOP plus $20 in catalinas. Seriously, Tiffany, you have taught me so much! I was a teacher for 10 years until I had to quit my job to better care for my disabled daughter & money is super tight a lot of times. I can’t always even afford to go out & do these deals too often because I can’t afford the OOP. But the year before I quit my teaching job, I started couponing, I came to one of your classes at the church & made myself a pretty good little stockpile of mainly toiletries & such. I was so thankful that first year that I had it because I didn’t have to buy any shampoo, conditioner, razors, body wash, detergent, dish soap. I’m trying to slowly build my stockpile back up but it’s much more difficult with $56,000 less income! I’m learning to budget & coupon & to live on less. In the end, all that matters is that my daughter (& son) are taken care of, safe & happy! Thank you for helping me take care of my family! One question though, since you & Paul both work & coupon, do you have a budget of couponing money? Like, you allow X amount of dollars a week/month for couponing?
I really know what you mean Kristina. Really my budget all depends on couponing. I use the majority of my budget for food on fresh stuff, the meat, produce and dairy. Then the rest of it goes as far as I can couponing. Anything extra we get depends on what i can pick up with coupons.
If I do this today…because I am just now seeing this post ;)…can I do just the shampoo/conditioner deal (minus the MIR) and still get the $10 Catalina if the total only comes to $29.82 before tax?

I got a super great deal !! I did the revlon make up $5.oo manufacture plus $3.00 HEB then I used $5 off 2 lashblast plus 2 $1.25 off each CG item. I also did the lipstick one. I bought several other items…2 -8 packs canned coke, a head of lettuce,lemons, bananas and my total was about $18.00. Score and I got my Catalina !! Thanks !!!
Tried this and had 6 eyeshadow to use some overage to get the OOP down and cashier said I couldn’t get any overage…. When I pointed to the policy where it said you can’t get cash back but using toward your basket is okay she said that is not what it means. How would you respond to the cashier? I even said I have called Corporate and they have said yes you can use overage towards your basket but she said Corporate is trained wrong and is telling customers the wrong thing. Ugh!! I didn’t know what to respond to that.
Ask for the manager. She is completely wrong. Just ask her to cancel the order get your coupons back and go to a different cashier.
What proof would you give to a manager bc the manager said no as well. Would you point out the line where it says “HEB cannot give cash back if the face value of a coupon is greater than the purchase value of the item”? That is the only line that I could think of to reference. Meaning that by not saying you couldn’t use it towards the basket meant it was okay to do. I just hate feeling like I’m doing something wrong :'(
You are not doing anything wrong, but sometimes the manager has the last say even if THEY are wrong. I don’t think you are going to get anywhere with that group. YOu can always try a different store. I know it is frustrating for them to treat you that way, and it is hurtful. They are just not a coupon friendly store.

I went to HEB today and my $10 catalina did not print. I purchased over $30 of P&G products. The cashier told me it would not print because the promo ended today. Didn’t sound right to me, but I was on my lunch break. Do you know if i can go to any HEB and go to customer service or would I have to go back to the same store? Thank you!
