I went to DG today for the first time to use coupons and I found it to be a horrible experience. First I had them enter the $2 off $10 purchase then I gave them all my coupons. Only 1 would scan and she told me it was because I had used the coupon code. So she voided everything out and then said she could use the coupon code after she entered in my coupons. They would only let me use 1 $2 of 2 Kotex coupons per transaction. So I gave her all my coupons and then she tried to use the $2 off $10, but it didn’t work since my total was less than $10. I ended up buying the Glade warmers & 2 Kotex in one purchase and then the next purchase I bought 2 more Kotex and then my last coupon wouldn’t scan so she told me I couldn’t use it. Over all, I didn’t pay anything not even tax, but I found it to be really frustrating. I don’t think I’ll be a DG shopper. I wasted my whole lunch hour there.
None of my coupons scanned, but that was because the bar codes didn’t line up. My cashier understands couponing so I was very fortunate he knew to enter them manually. I hope you call corporate and let them knwo how annoying that was!
I went to dollar general today and had (2) of the 1.25 off the glade oil warmers and (3) of the $2 off 2 kotex natural balance and (1) .50 off carefree pantyliners, at first everything was fine but then the cashier wanted over $4 for the total. She said she could only give me a dollar off for each coupon, once she called the manager the manager made the total come to $1.07 apparently here in ocala, florida you still pay tax on free items. However, I was not upset as I am new to couponing and thought I had made out like a bandit!
Our DG has $5 off $25 on Saturday 6/9 so this “could” be a good deal. I have had problems with using more than 1 or 2 of the same coupon for the same item before. I will give it a try, but not sure I’ll be able to get the deal you did.
