First, I would like to have a moment of silence for my hand mixer…
Thank you. I bought this mixer with the last $9 I had 15 1/2 years ago 16 days after I got married, at a Walmart in Cedar Falls, Iowa. There is not a week that has gone by that I have not used this mixer, and sometimes a few times a day. I pulled it out tonight to make fudge and as I turned it on quick something happened with the beaters and it quit working ๐
If you think that you can NOT make fudge or have messed it up in the past PLEASE give this fudge recipe a try!! This is totally fool proof and EVERYONE can make AWESOME fudge that will make your family LOVE you!! Recipe HERE.ย
Fantasy Fudge (Kraft Recipe on Marshmallow Cream)ย
2/3 c. evaporated milk (5oz.)
1 (7 oz.) jar marshmallow creme
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. butter
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
1 c. chopped walnuts

I use the same recipe, and use peanut butter chips to make PB fudge for my BIL (or the Andes with peppermint pieces for peppermint fudge – comes out pink, not white – but still good)…and I put them in mini muffin pans, to make bite size pieces. This year, I got silicone molds (Wilton) of gingerbread boy, snowflake, and Christmas tree (24 cavity), and one recipe gets 48 pieces of fudge (and some left over – so I think I need to get one more of each mold – hopefully Joann marks them down more than 40%)…

Wait, what? Y’all got married at a Walmart? You do know you now have to share the story with us. Walmart?! That’s all I got from this post. ๐ What is the story behind that, please.
Tiffany says
LOL! I wrote that badly! We didn’t actually get married at Walmart!

Oh ok, I was wondering. I mean, I’m all for somewere different and unique but Walmart? That’s a little too unique. ๐

LOL…..poor mixer. They just don’t make like that anymore. The question is were you able to make the fool proof fudge without the beloved hand mixer? I had a clothes iron that cost me about the same amount of money purchased from Walmart. I can’t say it lasted me that long but I sure got my money’s worth out of the thing.
Thank you for the recipe.

I love Cedar Falls, I grew up just north of CF & Loo. I miss Iowa right now even if Texas has better weather. Love your blog-you have no idea how much you’ve helped me out this year! (I have 5 children) Have a Merry Christmas!

Too funny! I *just* posted this recipe on my own blog then got yours in my email–great minds think alike ๐

I just made my second batch of this fudge. The first one went so fast! I make a single recipe and put it in a 9×13. Pieces aren’t as thick, but just as good and goes farther. I remember my mother making this same recipe. It is a family favorite. I’ve never tried making any other kind than chocolate, but the peanut butter and the peppermint sound so good!
BTW, I still have the handmixer I got at my wedding shower 44 years ago! I hold my breath every time I turn it on, but so far it works just like new.

We make this fudge every year and everyone raves about it. We tell them that it is on the marshmallow cream jar (every few years they have a different receipt on them) but everyone says that theirs dosent turn out as good…….we dont use a mixer…..all by hand!
Tiffany says
with that double batch i just use the hand mixer to get the chocolate chips mixed in fast enough! Doing it by hand is awesome!

I was totally ready to hear how you got married at Walmart. I thought, “Wow, she has always been thrifty”! Bummer.

Add 1 ounce German chocolate baking squares along with choc chips, 1 cup shredded coconut, and pecans instead of walnuts and it become German chocolate fudge! Thats what we do every Christmas:-)
