This week at Walmart there are 2 different ways to get a great deal on Advil Pocket Packs. According to Advil, the pocket packs are NOT trial size as they contain 10 pills and not the 2-3 the trial size contains.
This week in your paper you should be getting a $5/3 coupon and you cna print a $5/2 coupon. Either way, this makes for a sweet deal on Advil! Thanks I Heart The Mart!
Deal Idea:
Advil Pocket Packs $1.84
Use $5/3 products listed (no trial sizes) 8/14 RP
Total: 3 packs for $.52
OR
1 Advil Pocket Packs $1.84
1 Thermacare 2 pack $2.19
Use $5 off 2 coupon (coupon says any combination of 2)
Total: FREE + $.97Money Maker!
* If you need to do an Advil and a Thermacare it is still a moneymaker just smaller.

I believe the coupon states 20-ct or higher for the advil, so this deal would not work 🙁
Tiffany says
Which coupon? The one that came out today does not say that, it only says no trial.
Christina Adams says
I just printed it….only says “except on trial sizes”…Hope this helps…Happy Couponing Ladies!
Melissa says
If you do both deals that Paul posted you will get all 5 items for Free with overage of .45Cents! And mine says No Trial sizes as well.
Janice says
Just printed mine also and also stated no trial sizes also…
Micaela says
I’m confused as to why for the $5/2 I can’t buy 2 advil. Since it says must purchase any combination of 2, I take this as I must purchase 2 of the products, it doesn’t matter which ones.
Tiffany says
Thats the way I originally read it, but when you go to the site before you print it, it says combination of 1 advil and 1 thermacare. I wanted to air on the side of caution!
Chickenman says
Too bad it wouldn’t print twice…oh well, great deal. I will probably do both deals like mentioned above.
samantha says
I was able to print 1 coupon for every email address I have I have 3 and my husband has 2 so I was able to print 5 of them =] thanks Tiffany
Dana says
The $5 off 3 products q listed above was also in the Tuesday red plum that comes in the mail.
Perla says
I tried it this morning and the register would not take it because the manager said they were considered trial size even though I explained to her that they are pocket packs and they are NOT TRIAL SIZE. She said that if the register did not read it they cannot accept it for the pocket packs! 🙁
Tiffany says
I think from what people are saying the register beeped and asked if it was a valid coupon amount, which means it was a coupon that requires more then 1 item to be purchased. That does not mean the coupon would not be accepted, they just had to make sure you were purchasing 3 items (or 2) to fullfill the coupon amount. Coupons beep for different reasons. Are they saying if a coupon beeps they don’t take it at all?
Anonymous says
I had more items to purchase but she said that coupon was only valid for the bigger count not pocket packs because they were considered trial size. 🙁 I was purchasing 9 of them along with some more items and I had 3 of those $5/3 coupons.
Tiffany says
Sorry you had trouble. Like I explained according to Advil corporate, they are NOT the travel or trial size. At that point if they wont do anything there is nothing you can do unless you have Advil on speed dial and have them tell the cashier it is not a trial size. 🙂

Yes I also tried at my Woodlands WM and it didn’t work. Management would not take it. I hate to say it but this was my first bad experience there (and I always shop there.) Very rude treatment and was told they do not under any circumstance price match a loyalty card price?!?!? I did not have my price match policy with me (only cpn policy).
Tiffany says
Oh! Which one were you at? Let me guess? The back of the Woodlands at Woodlands Pkwy?

i tried to do the 5 off of 2 this morning and walmart couldn’t get the coupon to scan at all they said the think its missing something or the bars are to close together. is anyone else having this problem with the ones you printed
Stephanie says
Target had the pocket packs on Clearance for $1.56!
victoria says
Stephanie,
Which Target did you go to? I went to the one in Sugarland and they refused to take the coupon. Said it was a trial size. Also refused to take my Tide and Cascade coupon for the trial size although it does not say any size restrictions. I hate Target. That’s the last $169 dollars I’m spending there.
Chikenman says
I used 5 of the $5/2 and 5 of the $5/3 this morning. Neither one wanted to scan, but I just stood there and waited until THEY fixed the problem. The cpns were pretty clear. I couldn’t find the Therm packs at that price (must have been hiding) but got 25 of the pocket packs. Before cpns $46. After cpns, they paid me $4.00! 109%. That can definitely help you numbers.

I found the 10 ct pocket packs at my local target today for 1.42. I gave the cashier the 5.oo coupon and she was unsure and called for a manager. The manager said it was ok to use it and I paid .68 cents for all four packs. Great deal!
Jaclynn says
I just went to target here in sa tx and i cut out that coupon from the inserts from the paper and went to target and they clearnced the travel size advil bottles from 1.84 to .92 each so if you buy 3 at .92*3=2.76 can you use the coupon on that for the 5.00 off your purchase but it does not equal up to 5.00, would target pay you the 2.24 remaining or what? I did not buy them yet i wanted to ask this question first.
Tiffany says
Oh dear, I am not sure anymore. Some people are able to apply it to their cart and some the cashiers juts wont take it. It iwll depend on your store and cashier.
Jaclynn says
ok because i was just wondering. i will let you know if it works or not

Ugh. I had a nightmare trip to Walmart today. I was trying to purchase 2 Advil pocket packs with the $5/2 coupon, and I just wanted to apply the overage to the rest of my cart. The cashier gave me a hard time saying the pocket packs were trial size and also tried to tell me that they didn’t allow overages, and she called over someone from customer service. I remained calm and had my coupon policy ready, but when the CS rep said to “go ahead,” the cashier got SO worked up over it that she was shaking, crumpled up the coupons, and slammed the register drawer. It was amazing to me how angry she got over it. It was really not that big of a deal!!
DD says
Has anyone heard of the 6ct packs? are those considered trial? I haven’t been able to find any info on the 6ct packs. Someone found the 6ct at CVS for cheap but I think they may be considered trial. Advil corporate isn’t open until Monday so I can’t call and ask. Just wondering if anyone knows. 🙂
Betty says
also wondering is the thermacare 2ct consider trial size?…walmart tried telling me that the advil pocket size $1.84 is consider trial size…I kept talking to them even to a mgr..and they told me that because is the the smallest size they sell of advil in walmart that for them the pocket size is trial size!….so I told them…if advil doesnt consider them trial size then they are not… and asked them to call advil…right then n then…but it was after 5pm and the advil customer service line was close… ok so finally I had to get a regular size advil and thermacare…whatever I needed the items so I paid for them…
WALMART SAD TO SAY IS NOT HAPPY WITH CUSTOMERS USING COUPONS..SPECIALL THIS ONE…AN HOUR IN THE LINE AND HUMILATION THEY MAKE YOU GO TRHU IS NOT WORTH IT!…THEY EVEN TOLD ME ”DAMN PEOPLE AND THEIR COUPONS ARE PISSING ME OFF”…. in my town there is only 3 walmarts and none accept this coupon…be brave if your going to try this coupon…good luck!
Tiffany says
Sorry that happened to you, call 1800walmart. Focus on how u were treated not the coupon.
