I have had trouble using manufacturer’s coupons in conjunction with yellow HEB coupons. Has anyone else? I have printed their coupon policy but have not found them as coupon friendly as other stores in the area? Any thoughts?….
They are not as coupon friendly. The yellow coupons in the store are actually manufacturer coupons and so you can not combine them.
I just called corporate to try and get a little clarification on this. They told me that the “yellow coupons” are tied to the item that you are purchasing and not to the free item you are getting. So if the “yellow coupon” has an S or B on them then you can use another coupon. If it has a M you cannot. Tiffany this just does not sound right. Do you have any pull with HEB to get us a real Corporate response? Just wondering…
It is true. They are manufacturer coupons if they have the M. 95% of the yellow coupons are manufacturer coupons

What items trigger the $10 catalina and gift card?
You have to look at the bottem left of the yellow coupon and if there is an M on it you cannot stack it. But if there is an A or an S or even a B on it then you can stack it.

Amy, according to the policy I have printed, if there is an M in the bottom corner of the yellow coupon then it is a manufacture coupon and you cannot use another coupon. If there is a B or S on the bottom corner you can use a manufacture coupon because these are considered store coupons. My problem is I have never come across a B or S coupon.

The HEB I shop at allows you to use a manufacturer’s coupon on the item you BUY in order to get the other item free. The yellow in store coupon attaches to the FREE item (the majority of them are coded M for manufacturer), and you can use an additional manufacturer’s coupon (newspaper/internet printable) on the item you are purchasing. I hope that makes sense.
Me too! Both of the stores I shop at (Alvin and Friendswood) allow you to use a manufacturers coupon on the item you are buying but not the one you get free w/ yellow coupon.
That is how it is at my store too. Lately my store has been getting more and more coupon friendly. I love it!
I just did that last night – I used clipped coupons on the lunchmeat and cheese and then the yellow coupons on the bread, mac and cheese, corn nuts, and mayo.
As far as the Deans dip I called to verify, sadly the chips are a 4 oz. bag.
Lucy is right you can use a mfr. on purchase item and get the meal deal items free.
For example the Gortons fish sticks offered right now are 3.17 use the peelie from the ortego tacos and the checkout price goes to 2.17 for 18 fish stickes and the meal deal coupons are a 32. 0z Heinzs catsup 2.54 now free and the family hill country fare mac and cheese 14 oz. box .99 cents now free. So for 2.17 you have a great bargain.
I ended up doing it 3 times and couldn’t be more thrilled.
Make sure you have the correct free advertised items and coupons for store match up.
Another possible freebie matchup is some HEB cornut chips with Oscar Mayer printables. Our reg. HEB did not have this on sale but HEB# had the turkey lunchable for 1.50 less the mfr. 1.00 off coupon and this can be potentially stacked with store deal. Gotta check into it!
This did NOT work for me. I bought four Energizers plus one Banana Boat. The GC coupon scanned fine, but the Energizer coupons would not go through. The cashier manually inputted it, but then the Banana Boat would not go through no matter what. An assistant manager came over and concluded the total for the GC needed to be over $25.
So I had to abandon cart.
I hope it works out for others, but it was a mess for me.
Has anyone tried this and been successful? I forgot to add that I had ice cream in my order too and those coupons would not go through.
They voided off the gift card yellow coupon, then tried the other coupons and they flew through.
The battery coupon, the banana boat and the ice cream – all went through but only after the gift card was voided off.
I had other items in my order, because I know that sometimes if you save too much – it calls over a manager.
But it was either use the gift card coupon and get a $10 gift card.. Or I could use the manufacturer’s coupons. but not both.
What is the $10 catalina that it prints for??

Unfortunately, its the only grocery chain we have in our town. (corpus christi,tx) Since they dont have any competition the prices are high, good deals are few, and they are not coupon friendly. And, those yellow coupons they put out are just a scam, I believe. Instead of putting stuff on sale where you could use a coupon with a good sale price, they put out those yellow coupons that have an ‘M’ on them so, they cant be combined with any other coupons. HEB is making a fortune off of this scheme. I pray for some competition to come this way.
I’m starting to really Dislike HEB myself. I have noticed that all the yellow coupons have a “M” on them. As far as the dean dip goes,you can not use the their yellow coupon (which has a “M” on it) and the manufacturer coupon. What I would like to know when they started putting the “M” on all of the yellow coupons? It was a few days ago that I was able to use a yellow and a manufacturer coupon with no problem. I wish there were other stores besides HEB!!!!!
I went to HEB today in Baytown and there were no yellow tickets for Gift cards anywhere so I asked the manager and they had no idea what I was talking about =(.

The Energizer deal is NOT coded correctly in their registers. The catalina for the razors and sunblock did not print for me, even though my total was over $25 after coupons. They didn’t roll, and the cashier wouldn’t force them through.
Same thing happened to me!!! I’m sure the deal is DEAD, DEAD, DEAD!! Good luck, ya’ll.
I just did the banana boat deal, but did not get a Catalina for $10. I checked the machine to make sure he didn’t just leave it on there, but nothing.
I just got back from HEB and had no problems.
I bought 6 Banana Boat sticks for $4.25 each.
Total before coupons and tax was $25.50.
I paid $14.58, ad got my gift card and $10 catalina. I hope it works for others.

Yes, I went to League city store. The gift card coupon was on the products which listed all the brands that qualified.
It was super easy. The store put the Banana Boat at the front of the store.

I just came from my HEB at Louetta and 249. First could not find the coupons for the $10 GC. Finally the store manager went with me through the isles and found them next to the batteries.

I did each transaction with a different cashier. Something i found interesting is that in the first transaction they number my items from 1 to 3. In the second one, from 4 to 6. maybe because i used the same card????
might be the reason for not having a second catalina? or because is not rolling?
The second cashier could not scan the catalina for the $10, called the manager and manually entered like cash.

Fine print for $10.00 HEB gift card deal…buy any combination of Energizer Batteries, Schick Razors, Skintimate Shave Gel, Edge Shave Gel, Playtex Infant, Playtex Tampons, Banana Boat, Hawaiian Tropic, or Wet Ones totaling $25.00 and get a free $10.00 HEB gift card. There was no signage anywhere in the store indicating that a catalina would print at the register. I did a total of 6 different transactions, and each time a catalina for $10.00 off your next shopping trip printed. The catalina states “Thank you from, Energizer, Playtex, Schick, Wet Ones, etc”…the same brands that are included with the gift card promo. I don’t know know exact details about this catalina since it was a surprise to me when it printed. I do know that in my transactions, I only bought one particular product brand to get my total to $25.00 before coupons…so in first transaction I only purchased Schick products, in second transaction I only purchased Banana Boat products, etc. I don’t know if that makes any difference in getting the catalina to print. Getting the gift card did not affect being able to use any other coupons. There was no beeping at the register when the gift card was scanned…when the cashier scanned the yellow in store coupon for free gift card, it came off as a Big Savings Coupon. Hope some of this information helps. I don’t know why some of stores are having the catalina print and others aren’t. On the second to last page of this week’s ad it clearly shows a picture indicating the products included in the gift card deals. If you have the ad, then take it in and show it to the manager(s) at your store…even if the Catalina doesn’t print it is still a good deal. Hope some of this information helps. Sorry I don’t have clear answers. It was a pleasant surprise to me when the catalina printed, but I’ve talked to numerous people who have successfully done this deal. Do you think it is regional?
A note about using the catalina…it didn’t scan at the register for me. A manager came over and looked at it, said it is a legitimate coupon and entered it in as cash. She made a copy of the coupon and said she was sending information about it to corporate so that they could fix the problem with the register not recognizing it. That’s all the information I have about this deal.
Oh, one more item to note. I did not try to roll my cats. I used my gift card to lower my out of pocket and saved my cats to use on groceries later. Not sure if these cats will roll.

Went to Missouri City and no Gift Card coupon. Asked Customer Service and they were unaware. Pointed to deal if I buy Theme Park cards, get $10 off next order. Did get Hydor razor/refill deal and got $10 catalina, so was still a great deal. Saved receipt, in case $10 Gift Card coupon shows up at store over the weekend.

Based on comments I’ve received I believe the catalina is no longer printing. People who had the catalina print yesterday have done the exact same deals today and no catalinas are printing. I guess this was a short lived catalina. Hope some of you were able to get in on this deal.
I went to the Pearland HEB and did not get the catalina’s but did get the GC’s. Also on some specially marked packs of energizer batteries, there is a code you can enter when you buy 3 packs and receive either a $10 prepaid mastercard card, $10 to your paypal account or you can donate $10 to a park of your choice. Makes the battery deal even sweeter.

Same here… I got a Catalina last night… but not today. Luckily I went to a different store today and they had the coupons for the free gc. I’ll take either one!
