One of the reasons our family has started using essential oils is for our kids. Paul and I have gotten tired of the over the counter medication that our cupboards are full of, and pumping the kids full of chemicals we can’t pronounce. We also had gone for 5 years without medical insurance.
Essential Oils have become our first line of defense before we head on into the Dr. office. They have prevented many trips in, and $125 office visits for us in the past year. We also clean with essential oils, and diffuse them throughout the day. Paul uses oils for aches and pains from playing basketball and golf.
These are some of our favorite combinations:
- Bye-Bye Blues – Lemon, Valor and Lavender
- Calming – Lavender and Peace & Calming
- Feeling Yucky – Lemon, Peppermint & Thieves
- Tummy Ache – Peppermint & Di-Gize
- For Focus – Lavender, Cedarwood & Vetiver
Essential oils are easy to use. It is very simple. Wherever you need the relief you apply the oil. If your knee hurts, put the oil on your knee, if you have a headache, put the oil on your forehead, and so on. You never want to put oils in your eyes or ears though, just keep that in mind.
For us we often put oils on our little kids on their feet. We do this especially when we are putting them to bed. We rub Lavender on their feet to help them relax and get ready for bed, then we cover their feet with socks. This has helped them to wind down quicker and with better sleep overall.
