Ok, as usual my CVS started their sale early. If your store normally starts the next weeks sale early then it started this one early. If you are not sure, don’t call, they are not going to tell you. You just have to go to the store and start scanning items at the scanner and see if they are coming up at the sale price. That is how you will know.

I want to update you on the gift card $50 ECB deal that is happening, because you need to know the risks involved and how to do it correctly. At the worst you are stuck with a $150 paypal mastercard and out $10. But I hate to see that happen.
1. Login to your CVS account and check your featured deals/Extracare buck deals to make sure that it is there.
2. They *might* have pulled them at your store. There is a TON of confusion for the managers on these. Some are mistaken that it is a glitch, or they are pulling it. They are not pulling it at this time, there is nothing wrong with the deal, but fraud protection was alerted because people are doing more then the 1 per household.
3. You will need cash or a debit card in most cases to buy one, since it is a pre-paid mastercard. You can use ECB’s to pay the $4.95 activation fee, but not any of the actual amount put on the card.
4. You will be charged a $4.95 monthly fee after about 12 hours. So activate it, and use it right away.
5. When you activate your card (which you HAVE to do) make sure to do it online to have the best success. Use referral code 3263551557 to get your activation fee back within 2 business days.
6. People have been successful at using it to buy gift cards at other stores to use it quickly.
There is a Paypal card deal that 2 sweet gals shopping the sale in the store told us about and so I did that first. This is the deal: Buy a Paypal Mastercard Debit card for $4.95 and add $150 on it, you will get $50 ECB back! You can use this card anywhere it is a Mastercard. BUT, it will charge you $4.95 a month, so use it right away. I figured I had grocery shopping to do tomorrow and so it was worth it for the free $45 in ECB’s!!!

You can not roll this deal. Meaning you can’t use the card to buy another one (we tried!) but it does look like you will be able to do it more then once. This deal is from November 24th to 27th.
Then we went shopping in the store, you can see a list HERE. This is my favorite sale of the year! My store did not have everything nicely laid out yet so we had to hunt. A few things they didn’t have in yet, but I spent about $70, used my coupons and $50 ECB, and paid $2.75 out of my pocket for everything in the first picture!! PLUS I left with another $60 in ECB’s!
Depending on when you are going, and how long it takes CVS to fix glitches, the following are not printing ECB’s yet, and so when you buy them and check out you just have the cashier force print them for you.

Yes I did look when I got home and it is there, but the manager tried 3 more transactions for different customers after me because they all wanted the deal and none of them worked. She told me the deal was pulled, but maybe she was mistaken. I hope everyone can get it because it is on the CVS website! Thanks for letting me know because I was able to get one to work! Also to note the glucose monitor I got as one of the freebies for the week, had a rebate inside for the full price so that will be a money-maker for me as well 🙂

OH MY GOSH I AM FREAKING OUT.. so I went to CVS and bought the card and my $50 extra bucks are not there? It did not print out 🙁 So what do I do now? The ladies working had no ideal what I was talking about either.
Did they let you return the card? Call CVS corporate in the morning. But I would get my money off the card ASAP.
My CVS had to manually issue the ECB. Luckily she issued them in 25.00 inc.

You have to call to activate the Paypal card, but will it activate immediately and I can turn around and make the purchases at CVS?
Sorry for this question but, Do you know if I’m gona be charged with a fee on the paypal card after the first month if I spend the hole $150 card?

The pantiliners, probiotic, and candy bar didn’t print because those items were also on sale last week. When shopping during early activation, the current sale price takes precedence. If you buy them today, the ECB should print.
How exactly does the Paypal Mastercard Debit card work? How do you add $150 onto it (cash or through paypal)?

I tried to get the Paypal deal in Spring and all 4 CVS in the area pulled the cards. They all said there was a glitch and would not be selling them.
Because my store was out of the PP cards…they allowed me to get a different card and they manually issued the ECB

My EBC page has a deal that if you buy $75 in itunes cards you get $20 ECB. Can I buy the Mastercard first, get $50 ECB and then turn around and buy itunes cards with the mastercard and get $20? Anyone know?

I tried the card deal in FTW area and my local store told me they would not be selling them because of the confusion. I called corporate this morning and am waiting on a call back. Hopefully, they will find a way to honor it.

So the deal is there, but the store pulled all the cards and told me that it was a problem so they pulled them.
Do you have to use the entire card amount within 12 hours to avoid the additional fee? Also, do you have to cancel it when you are done to avoid more monthly deductions?

I need a lot of help with cancelling the card. I have tried several ways to do it with no luck. When I call CS it says the card has a zero balance then when I try to choose an option it goes to the next one and then basically disconnects me. I can’t get to a CS rep. So then I called just the regular Paypal with no luck either. Anyone have any suggestions?

There was a tag above the card but no ECB printed, the cashier printed 2 $25
The gift card deal worked for me twice. I used the first card to pay for the second card. The trick to get it to work was to pay $5 cash first then swipe the debit card. I have two seperate $50 ecb and a $150 prepaid debit card. It only cost about $10 in maintance fees.
Was anyone able to purchase the MC using a credit card or will it only work using a debit card or cash?
OMG!!!! I have 4 CVS stores in my area, called 2 and they don’t have any. Then called the 3rd store and BAM!!! The manager is substituting the Paypal for AMERICAN EXPRESS SERVE prepaid cards!!! I bought 4 cards with the 2 CVS accounts that I have and they override the ECB’s for 8 – $25 ECB’s. for a total of $200 in ECB’s. They have no charge for the american express cards (a promotion that they are having with CVS till the end of the year) and NO $4.95 fee. No activation. Loaded all cards to my Amazon Payments account and sent the money back to my other amazon payments account then back to my checking account that I bought them all with. A little bit of work but for $200 to CVS for free is AWESOME! Thank you.
Unfortunately, I’m unable to find this deal anywhere. I’ve used a bunch of zip codes near me in San Diego and I’ve used my parents’ in MA but none are coming up with that deal. So bummed! They are offering the one with ITunes and Gap/Old Navy but not this one. Maybe it’s a regional thing? It’s not advertised in our ads or on the display.
i think it’s dead. i screenshot it just in case i had a problem but the deal is gone in my zip code, it was there up to last night.
So I went to my local CVS and they were out then called 3 stores only to find out they pulled the cards, the cvs on woodlands pkwy and gosling, I have called corporate and they told me the cards will be released that wa at 10:30 this morning I have called all day and they have not been released at the gosling location I was told that there is a better deal online for same card where you get $100 ECB. SO I have looked only and not only can I not find the new deal, but the $50 ECB deal is gone on my cvs account.
Oh, corporate did say I could get a raincheck for the gift card if the store was all gone.
Thank you for sharing this deal! I have already done it twice and it has worked beautifully! I used one card to pay for the next. I called the number on the back of the card and they said there is a limit of 3 per ssn. I used the $50 ecb to buy all the “free after ecbs” to break up such a large ecb.

Well you dont have to. But they charge you $4.95 a month to have the card.
