Grilled Ham & Cream Cheese Sandwich

  • 4 - 6 slices artisan bread
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
  • ⅓ cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup ham, chopped
  • ¼ cup spinach, chopped
  • 2 tbsp onion, diced
  • 2 tbsp green bell pepper, diced
  • 2 tbsp of unsalted butter, room temperature
  1. In a medium size bowl add softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped ham, chopped spinach, diced onion and green bell pepper. Mix all ingredients until thoroughly combined.
  2. On a slice of thick cut sourdough or bakery loaf bread, spread 1½ tbsp of ham and cream cheese mixture. Butter both sides of the bread generously.
  3. Heat 1 tbsp of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Place sandwich buttered side down in the hot skillet and cook until golden brown. Using a spatula, pick up the sandwich and add an additional 1 tbsp of butter, flip the sandwich over onto melting butter. Cook until golden brown. Place on a place and serve.
