Have you started your newest addiction with Lularoe Leggings (or other clothing items) yet? Whether you’re on your first ever piece of Lularoe Clothing or your twenty first, taking care of them is super important. We all want our buttery soft leggings to last a lifetime right? Trial and error has occured to bring you guys the best possible way to keep your Lula Clothing in tip top shape and I mean even the tag says it all…. take care of them or you’ll be sad.
(By the way this is our Lularoe Instagram you need to follow lovehustlestylellr!)
Alright guys so here we go, there are going to be different ways you want to wash/dry your different types of Lularoe Clothing from Leggings to Kimonos and more so we’ve broken it down a bit for you to make it easier. As an added tip I would suggest washing ALL your like Lularoe Laundry together, so leggings, tops etc. For the first time of washing be sure to wash alone in case of colors bleeding etc like they do with blue jeans.
Leggings
1. Turn inside out
2. Wash in COLD Water
3. Use Gentle or Delicate Washer Cycles
4. Air Dry (this doesn’t strain the fabric as much and makes it last longer)
As an added care measure you may not need to wash your leggings after every single wear, the more you wash them the faster they will begin to show wear.
Kimonos or Lace Items (Like Lola Skirts)
1. HAND WASH ONLY (If washed in a washer you run the risk of snagging on the machine)
2. You can then lay items on a towel and roll the towel to squeeze as much water as possible out of item
3. Hang Dry to finish drying.
Amelias, Madisons, Lucy Skirts, Perfect Tees (all other Lularoe Wear)
1. Turn inside out
2. Wash in Cold Water
3. Use Gentle or Delicate Cycles
4. Air Dry
So what’s the big deal if you throw them in the dryer or don’t wash them as directed? It wears them down and takes away their super awesome softness guys, in other words, it makes you sad. You might notice some pilling or fluff balls on the clothing as it shows wear. (Leggings may show this after many washes as well)
Rebecca says
My leggings say a different instruction – says to tumble dry low.
WG10 says
Not worth it in my opinion. The clothes are for middle-aged women at best.
Face it, busy folks are not going to take the time to separate everything, run small loads of Lularoe in cold water, hang things to dry…
My girlfriend showed me her two Lularoe pieces. One had been washed, the other brand new. The one that had been washed had already lost color and softness. She was very disappointed because of the money that she had spent on the item.
Just be aware that your investment in Lularoe clothing isn’t just ca$h, it’s in laundry care time, too.
Carley says
Hey there!
I’m a 19 year old college student, and we are just as addicted to LuLa as middle aged women! Make sure you tell your girlfriend NOT to throw these in the washer or dryer. Simply hand wash and rinse in a bucket of cold water, and hang to dry. It takes less than 5 minutes! I’m a full time college student working two jobs, and I still can find the time for a weekly leggings wash. Everything good in life takes a little maintenance! 🙂
Danielle says
Agreed! It takes less time than a sink full of dishes! I find it useful to add it to my “daily” routine (I’m not one to wear clothing multiple times before washing). So at the end of the night, if I’ve worn my LLR I handwash them in the bathroom sink and hang them to dry over the shower rod.

Thank you!!! I’m not middle age women I’m a single mom with a job lol and I love lulatoe, just because some people do not know how to take care things doesht mean company bad.
Pam says
That is so true
Megan. says
I’m definitely not middle aged. I’m in my twenties. I have enough Lula that they make one good load. I take them out and hang them on hangers in my bathroom. It’s not that hard. What do you think people did before driers? If it’s something that interests you, you’ll make time for it.
Anonymous says
I wash in cold delicate cycle and I air dry in my dryer. They come out perfect every time. Soft many washes without any noticeable wear
Anonymous says
It’s not that hard to wash clothes in cold water and hang to dry. I do that with most of my clothes to preserve color and minimize wear….
Lindz says
Well I am a law student with a family who still finds time to hand wash and air dry many of my clothes. So not everyone just shoves everything in a washer and dryer!
Anonymous says
It really doesn’t take much extra time. Even before LuLaRoe, I didn’t dry many of my clothes to keep them looking their best longer so once you get used to the extra step, you don’t even notice it taking up your time. Plus LuLaRoe is so worth the extra effort!
Anonymous says
I work 80 hours a week and I wash alllll my clothes in cold water and hang dry all my shirts. you want your clothes to last, you have to take care of them.
Angel says
I see all ages wearing LuLaRoe so I am not sure where you got your information. And as for the time on laundry I would hate to see what your wardrobe looks like. Haters will always find a way to put everyone down because they are obviously not happy and jealous of all around. Like the tags say “You will be sad”, that tag should be in all your clothing and not because it is LuLaRoe.
Paulette says
My leggings say to tumble dry also. Wish the company would get their directions synchronized so we all have the same
instructions!
April says
I’ve washed my leggings 3 times since I purchased (just purchased mine last week). I never dry them just for the simple reason that I generally don’t dry clothing that is a blend of that fabrics (mostly leggings) because it can fade and the feel of the fabrics change with drying. My leggings so far still look and feel brand new!
Kelly says
I purchased a black pair, wore them once, and washed according to the directions. Second time of wear, the color transferred to my hands each time I would pull them up. I came home with black dye on my fingers and nails! It looked like I had been painting. Anyone else have this problem?
Anonymous says
I have I have a black pair I wear to work and whenever I wear them I have black dye left on my legs that I have wash it off
Anonymous says
Soak all your darks in 1/2 cup vinegar and water mixture with a little salt to set the dark colors for 30 min then wash!
Carley says
Thanks Anon!
I think most of us have had this problem at least once, I hope this takes care of it!
Michele Davenport says
Yep, that’s how you do it!
hannah Lea sherman says
Yes I had that same problem! I have been trying to figure out what happened this whole time… but that’s it!
Kristen says
YESSSSSS every single time I wear my all black Lulas the tips of my fingernails turn black and it is ruining my
gel manicure. I easily own 20 different printed Lula leggings but it only happens with my black it is so irritating. Does anyone know how to stop this ???
Ashley says
This happen to me too! French tips are now brown! How can I fix this?
New@lula says
I have the same issue!
Pamela says
Ugh..I have the same problem. My nails gals fixed them twice and today I wore my solid black leggings again and now the tips of my pink nails are ruined again.
Anonymous says
I am having the same problem with my black ones
Pamela says
Yes, I have black lularoe leggings that consistenly get on my pink gel nails as well! ugh.
Anonymous says
Yes! On my fingernails, car seat and transferred to my new purse and it won’t come off. And this is after several washings. Grrr, cheap product in my opinion.
Kelly says
It’s because the solid colors, including black, (the ones that are not white inside) are dyed that color. This is the same as buying a dark wash denim or fabric in any store. To help, many people suggest soaking in a 1 C vinegar/1 Gallon water mixture for 30 minutes then wash and hang dry as usual. Vinegar helps dyes set (think decorating Easter eggs). Nail polish is porous so color transfers on your painted nails from the deep, dark fabric dyes.
Carley says
I ALWAYS hand wash my LuLaRoe leggings individually. Simply fill up a large bowl (I use large plastic salad bowls) with cold water and a very small amount of laundry detergent and another with plain cold water for rinsing. Swirl around each pair of leggings in the soapy bowl, transfer to the rinse bowl, then hang to dry! Make sure to refill the bowls whenever you notice discoloration in the water to prevent color bleeding!
Anonymous says
What kind of soap
Tam says
Any kind…liquid is best…have even used gentle shampoo…and chamomile…no harsh bars, but with liquid, generally, soap is soap!
Anonymous says
Has anyone tried to get stains like blood or food out of their leggings? Can I use Oxi-Clean?
Debbie combs says
Is it ok to use fabric softener?
Monika says
Hey Debbie, I personally use fabric softener and haven’t had any problems. I usually air dry my leggings though.
Maryl says
I bought an Amelia recently and after washing and hang dry it has wrinkles. Was wondering can I use Downey Wrinkle Release on it?
Becky says
Downey Wrinkle release doesn’t work. I have not found anything that does. Frustrating. I have been wondering about a steam iron, but scared of shrinking.
Lisa says
I mix downy in water and baking soda in a spray bottle and spray my wrinkles and they come right out. And smell good too!!
Sylvia Paulin says
How do i get a oil stain out had food fall
on shirt
Melissa says
I used a little dawn dish detergent on my oil stain then put it in the wash as usual and it came right out
Leslie Crumpton says
I wonder if the clothing can be put in the dryer on air dry no heat delicate cycle? That would be so much easier than having to hang dry all of the LulaRoe that I own! Seriously, I probably on 40 pair of leggings and several perfect tees and that’s just a small sampling of what I own! What do you all think about maybe drying them in the dryer with no heat, air dry, and on delicate cycle?
Monika says
I personally have dried them on regular heat, no heat/air dry both and mine have all been fine.
Brittney Blakley says
Not mine. My black lularoes lost their softness after one time of using the “air dry” setting on my dryer. Still love them but not what they were before. I do have a small oil stain from cooking on them that i am trying to get out. Hard with only being able to use cold water.
Bree says
Use blue Dawn dish soap to get the grease stain out…even in cold water. Put it on the stain run a little and wash as normal.
Cass says
I actually have been drying mine in the dryer on low/no heat and so far I have not been sad. I only wash them in the washer on cold/ gentle cycle. For me this has been because of a lack of space to hang clothes to dry.
Anonymous says
I dry mine in the dryer and havent had issues. I dont have time for special care
Angela Haberkorn says
My lularoe is washed on delicate, cold water and hung to dry and I still have fuzz balls on everything
Montana says
I’m having the same issue. Fuzz everywhere!! They look great, but they shed like mad. Any solutions?
Sarah says
I had this same problem. A fabric shaver works wonders. They are like $10 at Target. They work wonders!
Helena says
Are you washing them inside out?
Carly says
Cheap products. Feel amazing and makes buying so tempting. Just remember what your consultant likely didn’t tell you is how fragile these expensive leggings are. Day one of my second pair of leggings, hole. My mistake of getting my 5 year old a pair. She wore once, knees are faded out and stitching is coming undone. No exchanging because they had been worn (um, shouldn’t you be able to wear a product without them falling apart?) no refunds. LuLaDONE
Sheryl says
Did you contact your consultant about the holes? We are supposed to exchange out leggings that are defective (within a reasonable amount of time). Holes on the second wear is not reasonable, so you should be able to get a replacement pair. Same for the kids pair. If the consultant who sold the leggings won’t replace, find a different one. If you send the leggings to her (or him), they will get you a replacement pair.

I need help. Ok, so i fried bacon in my lularoe shirt, I know I know oops. Now it has lovely grease stains. How do i safely get those out.
Anonymous says
Lemon essential oil removes grease stains. Put it on. Wash immediately. Voila. Bye bye grease stain!
Erin Stewart says
I need help! Just bought my first outfit and the irma after washing it looks like it has a white spot on it. I didn’t get anything on the irma before I washed and hung dry. Should I wait for it to dry aND see if it goes away? What else can I try? ! Has this haopened to anyone else?
Anonymous says
Yes! My mustard color Irma has faded “whitish” spots all over the front. I have taken special care of these clothes because they are so expensive and after the first wash, they had one or two spots then got worse after more washes. My lularoe rep is replacing it, she said she has never seen that before
Mika says
Can I soak more than one pair at a time? I’ve got at least 30 and so it would take forever to vinegar soak each one…could I use color catchers while vinegar soaking to avoid color bleed? Would I even need to? I’m scared to wash them right now lol
Sara says
I’ve washed my leggings and tops together without any problem. I do take the time to hang dry them. If i have some wrinkles the next day, I just toss them in the dryer with a slightly damp washcloth. Set dryer on air dry – voila, most of the wrinkles gone.
Karen says
I had over 30 pieces to color lock and wash the colors ran and my clothes are ruined! I asked many consultants if you could color lock mor ethen one piece at a time and nobody knew! My irmas are ruined!
Alisia says
Did you get this solved? I have the same issue on a couple pieces?
Bre says
People who have done the vinegar with leggings how many do you soak at a time?
Me says
I accidentally dyed a lu laroe white T blue, can I bleach it?
Tiffany says
I would try!
Becky Wolery says
I have a washed in grease stain. Is there anyway yo get it oit since it was washed in. I used dawn but it didn’t come off. Help?!?!?!
Sara says
rub the grease spot with Dawn and wash again.
Kelly says
I would try shout. Let it soak in a while before washing again. Always air dry. The heat from a dryer helps stains Serb
Donna says
I read that Lemon Essential oil removes oil stains. Good luck!!
Stephanie says
My Sarah says dry clean only. What will happen if I wash it? If it’s only risk of shrinking I’m ok with that since it’s a size too big ready and I’m short.
Anonymous says
i use dryel dry clean kit i purchased at target
and it has worked great on anything that says dry clean i use with low temp on dryer just to
be safe have not had any issues
Sarah says
I have two Lucy skirts and one Lindsay that say dry clean only. Can I hand wash these or put in delicate in washing machine? Thanks!
Mary says
What did you end up doing? I just purchased a Lindsay and NOW I see it says dry clean! 🙁 The first piece I ran across that requires dry cleaning!
Denyse says
My little granddaughter got a pen ink stain on her lularoe dress. It is a coral color. Is it ok to try rubbing alcohol or hairspray to get it out?
Ariel says
What about the Amy? The tag on mine says I need to dry clean it, but I don’t like the idea of spending the money to do that for just 1 shirt. Is there anything else i can try?
Ariel says
Oh and i have a bunch of shirts and dresses that have all gotten horrible white deodorant stains! I even use the deodorant that isn’t supposed to stain shirts but it doesn’t work on any of my lularoe. Is there any way to get those stains out?
Angie Frantz says
I got liquid foundation on my vintage Americana collection by accident and don’t know how to get it out. can someone pleeeease help me?????
